MAC Wonder Woman Make Up Preview

I was never a fanatic of MAC to begin with only because there are other brands out there with the same  or better quality in my opinion but lately they seem to be hitting a nerve with me with the previous few collections. That annoyance has grown into a full blast fury after seeing  what they have in store for the upcoming Wonder Woman Collection which is due to launch February 2011 in the USA/Canada and internationally in March 2011. The reason I'm annoyed is because WW is my absolute most fave icon/memory/comic of my childhood but they did a craptacular job with the packaging. Being a child of the eighties I totally get the whole comic book look but being MAC they should have done something more worthy of the heroine in design & creativity for the price point they sell their make up for. This might be unfair to say, but the pigments look dry too, just like they were in the Villains collection. And even though I loved one particular shadow single in that set I was so disappointed with the pigment quality in other shadows. The price I paid for those each was almost $30, I could have gotten nicer quality eye shadow formula at the drug store. This Wonder Woman Collection looks cheap, cheesy and as if no real glamorous conceptual thoughts went behind the process of making it. They are MAC after all...the cosmetic professionals. What's going on with the quality lately? It seems to me there just getting too secure in their own brand pushing mediocre products. And the celebrity endorsed marketing campaigns haven't convinced me they are really worth the higher price. I'm not trying to be rude about this but the experience I have with MAC cosmetics is the same that I have had with Victoria's Secret cosmetics-sometimes it's hit or miss but never actually worth the price. Most of my MAC lipsticks always go bad before the year is up,granted most lipsticks eventually turn dry and foul it shouldn't for what it sells for. Sometimes that's not the case with some brands as I have this Lancome lipstick my aunt gave me when I was in high school as a gift, it was my very first designer lipstick. I still have it and it's still silky! I don't really use it for hygienic reasons rather keep it for sentimental ones but if I wanted to it's still fresh. I'm going to be fair and open minded reserving judgment for when I actually try something from the line. The only product that screams to me somewhat is the palette so I'll see if I'm convinced after buying one. I'm just so teed off because this is that one collection I would have splurged on for every single piece! It just seems to me they are refurbishing the same old products with different names and packaging. How many different ways can you sell the same mineralize blush & shadow?  There is nothing unique or original in the mix! I would have done something fabulous by incorporating Wonder Woman's bangles and headpiece  perhaps into the packaging or the design element itself, these are blah blah blah. Can you tell I'm annoyed yet? This is Wonder*Woman for goodness sake! MAC if your reading this step up your game, you guys should have designed something more worthy of this iconic fantabulous amazonian wonder! I just know Hollywood is gonna mess up the movie version as well-just like that horrific lame excuse of a Superman remake. Again, I'm just expressing my opinion or rather a first knee jerk reaction to the line. Who knows, maybe I'll feel differently once I see the products in person and I'm not hating them either... Does anyone else feel the same way about MAC cosmetics lately or get what I'm trying to say?  Opinions anyone? Have a great weekend. Stay beautiful! XOXO
