Mia, Laura and Rosalie reporting.  This was another great, fantastic day.  The sore necks and throats from yesterday were all fine today.  We started the day with a little fog, a little cloud, and a lot of sunshine.  This was followed by darkness (well, OK, not that fast).  Somehow though it did manage to rain again tonight.

Day 3 of VBS was attended by about 25 kids.  We played games outside led by Graham Ward and Graeme Byer and Rianna.  It´s fun to see the kids interacting with us despite the language barriers.  Susan and Karin did yet another great job with leading singing, including competitions to see which sides of the room could sing the loudest.  We think our hearing is still OK....Several were involved with the skit, and we were able to include a handful of Brazilian kids too.  They seemed to enjoy being included.  Today´s story was where the children come to Jesus and the disciples try to send them away.  Jesus insists that the children stay.  Following this, we presented the Gospel and invited kids to pray with us.  It´s always hard to know whether or not responses are sincere, but we are convinced that we have planted seeds.

Then we quickly set up for an early supper.  Today included rice and beans as well as beef, carrots, chuchu (you figure it out) and a salad.  The highlight of dinner was when the surprise birthday cake came into the room with miniature dolls (Polly pockets to be exact) dressed in soccer uniforms made of fondant icing.  These were arranged ready to play soccer on a accurately created green field.

Coffee house morphed into the usual Bible study/church where waffles were a high commodity and coffee was flowing continuously.  (It was great not having to wait for coffee hour.)  Brazilians adore coffee.  It sometimes though seems like having coffee with your sugar.

No interesting or embarrassing stories about our team come to mind as we are writing this (it´s now midnight).  Yesterday we did meet a random fellow on the bus who´learned to speak English by watching movies.  His English was superb.

To wrap up, tomorrow we´re going to see the falls one of the 2 most popular tourist places in Brazil.  We´ll also be eating supper in Argentina.  The saying here is that you can eat breafast at the falls, lunch in Paraguay and dinner in Argentina.

Please pray for the upcoming youth events Friday and Saturday evening and all day Sunday.  We´ve made a few contacts already.  Also pray for continued good health and restful sleep (seems like we´re always short).  Thanks so much for your prayers already.

Now it´s time to say boa noite.
