FAll 2011-FRINGE, FEATHER'S & FUR

shhh... a sneak peek of my fringe purse review-post coming tomorrow

Firstly, I wish everyone had a super spectacular Labor Day Weekend! Can you believe the summer has come and gone? This summer was neither wow nor ugh! but rather a lukewarm blah for me. Oh well there is always next year...

At least now we can enthuse ourselves with Fall 2011 Fashion Trends. And it seems to be gearing up for a fashionable season where anything goes in terms of colors, silhouettes and styles. With a varied assortment of stylish elements to add to your wardrobe, the question left to ask is what's a girl to choose? Strangely enough I can't recall a season where there has been such an eclectic mix of contrasting trend elements happening all at once such as Mod, feminine frills, lace, rich dark Gothic (not the street wear type), sexy bondage, flapper, fringe, feathers, leathers, animal prints, furs, remnants of seventies glamour and my absolute favorite of the moment- the return of the feminine suit. With a plethora of looks for your heart's pickings, this fall promises to be anything but boring. Even though there are many trendy components happening all at once they seem to nicely mesh and tie in with each other making it easy for you to incorporate several of these trends at the same time.  For example: the flapper look, feathers and fringe all go hand in hand. As well as Mod, fur and color-blocking trend equally working well together. Now all you have to do is figure out which personality wardrobe you'll choose.

Let's discuss a few trends you can start incorporating into your look right now with some classic quintessential cool weather transitional basics of fur, fringe and feathers

Fur- always a designer & stylist go to piece for fall accessorizing adding richness, warmth and glamour to any drab outfit. For instance, take a basic boring wool coat and turn up the notch with a beautiful soft fur collar. And fur is exceptionally hot this season being seen everywhere you look from shoe trim, handbags to jewelry. I suggest you go with some affordable faux fur pieces not only to save you money but to help keep our little animal friends safe. You won't have a hard time finding anything fur related in boutiques and outlet malls alike this winter whatever budget you may be on.

Feathers- following strong right behind fur is the feather trend and it also goes hand in hand with the flapper look you will be seeing plenty of this season. Feathers are another great way to accessorize your look for less. And you don't even have to purchase feather trim clothes. If your a DIY chick you can head on over to your local fabric store buy some feather strips and add them to pieces in your own wardrobe. Feathers add a luxurious touch as collars and are very festive on shoes, bags and jewelry for holiday glitz. This is also another trend that allows you to be cruelty free with, as some really fabulous faux feather material is easy to find.

Fringe- the fringe look that is trending right now isn't the Bohemian style of fringe which carries a certain heaviness to it. Modern fringe trends also inspired by the flapper look is styled with loose free movement in mind and has a certain light as air quality to it. On dresses, fringe is layered delicately allowing the curves of your body to move along with out restriction. And fringe isn't limited to fabric but hardware that's found also in jewelery and handbag trim such as chains and links. Another great way to add some personality to your look without looking weighed down. The trick for this and all of the above trends are lightweight pieces and the right amount of trim without overdoing it. You want to look modern and stylish not like a cover hippie plucked straight from a vintage magazine. What's your favorite trend from this group? Stay beautiful!  XOXO
