Do you ever have one of those days when everything is scheduled for the same day? It seems that the Saturdays in April are like that for me.
This past Saturday, I stopped by DeBois Textiles, and it was central casting for a number of friends and acquaintances. My friend Flip popped in to find something interesting for a dinner she was having later that evening. She left with some of Trina Turk’s fabulous Santorini print in orange and white. Then I ran into my friends, Rose & Ivo, who host their neighbourhood’s 4th of July parade every year. The were looking for a variety of fabrics and ended up with a gorgeous oyster shade of raw silk, some moss green velvet and a stunning paisley. They have an idea to paper their walls with fabric. Next up was Wesley, who is one of the owners of The Antique Exchange, one of the shops we visited on the Spring Tour de Baltimore. She’s always looking for interesting fabrics for the shop and for her children! Here’s another iteration of the Trina Turk Santorini, but it’s embroidered. Saturday, April 17th is equally busy. My friend Jake’s amazing yard sale is scheduled for that morning, although I am still awaiting confirmation from him. Once he confirms, I will have the information for you. It’s always well worth a trip to Bolton Hill for this sale. Jake’s got brilliant things! After Jakes, I head back downtown to meet up with our Historic House Group, and we start at DeBois, then go to Housewerks, and finally squeeze in a visit to Mount Clare, just across the street from DeBois. Finally, we’ll end up at the Book Thing, maybe finding some treasures like this (haha) or more likely, dozens of Danielle Steel books, and then we’ll hit up the local barbeque hut for big Ball Jar glasses of Tennessee lemonade!
Come on and join us!
