So I'm not a huge fan of primers which made me skeptical in trying a sample of
Smashbox Color Correcting Primer-in shade
Blend. The Blend shade is a
pinkish apricot which
counteracts discolorations and
evens out dark spots.I have to say I'm amazed and loving it so far.I immediately noticed how super light the formula was when I dabbed a few drops on my face. The consistency is of that of a silky serum. It glides on
almost invisible even though it appears to be a dark substance in the photo. When I say almost invisible it's because for me on my very light skin I can hardly see the primer but technically it has a very
sheer pinkish hue to it.In my opinion it's a better formula and much more
ultra light and
silky from an older version of
Smashbox Starlight Whitening Photo Finish that I previously purchased.I added a photo of that jar below
just for comparison.I didn't think the Starlight had much of an impact on my face even though it was for a whitening glow effect. But with this shade I see a difference in the appearance of my skin before and after applying foundation.Feel free to wear it alone without any foundation to give your skin a more uniformed smooth finish. You can barley feel it on your skin,it's incredible and a few dabs will cover your entire face.No need to add layers of the product because that will just make it flake off.I applied it over my moisturizer and it didn't interfere with that at all.Make sure the moisturizer you use drys into your skin and isn't oily so you can get a better finish. My pores looked less visible and my face had a very even smoothed out appearance.Dark spots were less visible and it even evens out the dark spots under your eyes. My makeup still looks fresh from this morning. If you have very dark spots from past scars this wont cover it up completely but will make them less visible. You can wear this alone without any foundation to gives This formula is
oil free with
antioxidants and
vitamins.I added a
swatch of the primer that I emptied into a container. You can get
several days use of this sample product. If you don't want to commit to buying the full size first then this is a great way to try it.You can get samples at
Sephora or wherever
Smashbox is sold.Retail
$38 for
1 oz size. If the Blend shade that you sample is not right for your particular skin tone
other formulas are available at
Smashbox Cosmetics.Try a sample of the shade you feel may best match your own skin properly.I have very light skin and the
Blend worked perfectly.I definitely am going to buy a full size and recommend trying it.I also want to try the
lavender shade because I have a very light yellow tone to my skin, will keep you posted on it.Edited below to add
