Moonstone Pearls: Heidi Klum for V.Secret Collection

I'm back~I thought the celebrations would last longer but the weather is funky! Anyway, since it's late in the day and last time I blogged about meteorites mentioning my Heidi Klum Moonstone Pearls for Victoria's Secret here is a review on them. This was from last years holiday collection created by Heidi Klum inspired by her then recent trip to India and were sold as a limited edition during Christmas 2009. I also have her gorgeous eye palette from the same collection which I'll do a post on soon. Since I started my blog after the New Year this year there are so many items I have yet to review but I'll get to them eventually. Let me mention that the pearls in the photo above are filled to the top because I purchased 2 sets of these then emptying one box into another. That's how little they are filled! The moonstones are mixed tonal shades of gold-golden pink and bronze pink swirls. There absolutely gorgeous! These are way more richer than the Guerlain Meteorites but have more of a powder fallout. This is probably the case because the pigment in the pearls are heavy handed in the sheen department. The richness in the formula means you need just the barest tap of your brush to pick up a lot of product. Because the powder was so rich I was able to swatch it for you showing what a nice golden glow you get. It's even prettier in person  and Guerlain Meteorites are more sophisticated and subtle in the glimmer department as such that with Guerlain you get a softer application so women of all ages can use them. These pearls seem to be more youthful as they really gleam up your face. I mean like high-beam gleam! I guess it depends on the look you going for and this would suggest a more over the top holiday glitz face. You can apply the pearls anywhere on your body using a  nice body brush applicator. This did come with a little puff sponge but it's completely useless. They should have omitted the puff saving the space for more pearls! Another difference in this from the Guerlain is the price. I believe this little trinket retailed at $22 although Guerlain sells larger versions for this is a travel size canister. That's still a hefty price for a small amount but seeing that I've had these pearls an entire year they still haven't wasted so you get your moneys worth because these will last forever. The box is very pretty constructed of heavy cardboard paper with shiny gold & pink paper and Indian motifs. These sold out in a couple of months so you can't buy them anymore but I'm doing this review so you can keep a lookout if Victoria s Secret decides to do another collection this holiday hopefully snagging a few for yourself. Did anyone else manage to get this lat year?  Oh-I'm going to pick up something tomorrow for a blog surprise-stay tuned. Stay beautiful! XOXO
