Pakistan Fashion Week 2

Not too many people think of Pakistan when Fashion Week is mentioned so I thought it would be great for me to talk about this ever growing global event. In a way it seems almost bizarre that there even is a Pakistan Fashion Week in a part of the world where hunger, terrorism and more ironically where most women still must cover themselves up in public.Yet this is the second year that the shows were held in Karachi with hundreds of Eastern socialites, industrialists, movie stars and hipster Pakistani elite in attendance. Although the scene may not be what you usually experience at fashion shows with Pakistani Army Rangers, police, security guards and bomb sniffing guard dogs- it was a success nonetheless less. Does anyone else think this is awesome? I think this is a great step forward for women of Muslim nations gaining more of a foothold in being able to express themselves without the interference of men as most of the collections are designed by women. Well at least it's a start in the right direction for female empowerment & liberation. Let's all hope! Stay beautiful! XOXO
