Skin Food Gold Caviar Powder Ball Pearls Highlighter

If you recall a few months back I discovered a new Asian skin care & cosmetic line through a sample I received with a beauty purchase and vowed to try out their products. That brand was The Skin Food and more info on this company can be found in my original post by clicking here. As you recall I was enthused about this brand and vowed to scour the internet for sites that ship to the States and for the past weeks I managed to grab a few goodies from Skin Food cosmetics. The skin products are probably better than the cosmetics so I'll be looking to try some of them in the future. The first photo above shows the three different products I purchased along with some samples but for today my review will just be for The Skin Food Gold Caviar Powder Blushing Highlighter Pearls Shade 01Gorgeous Blooming. I haven't been able to find out if there is actual caviar in the powder or because of the shape because the ingredients are written in Asian. From what I can tell they are made from a form of rolling minerals. I'll start my review with the packaging which is a cute little golden topped sphere with two layers. The top layer holds a little brush which isn't great for applying but if you travel with this it might come in handy when needed. The bottom row has a plastic topped sifter which when you remove the label you can gently shake up the sphere and pick up the fine powder with a blush brush. Or you can remove the sifter cap and actually swirl your brush on the pearls themselves if you prefer to apply that way. I found with the sifter cap on you get less product therefore not wasting the powder plus the consistency of these pearls have too much product fall out so a tiny amount goes a long way. This jar is listed as 25 grams in weight and there are about the same amount of pearls you get from Guerlain Meteorites. The smell isn't as nice as Guerlain, it's not bad just too floral for my taste. The colors of the pearls are White, Gold, Peach, Pink, Violet and Green which are very pretty. This shade which is the lightest has more sheen to it than the Guerlain pearls which are more subtle, these have more glimmer and luminosity to them. As with the Guerlain pearls if you don't apply them right they make your skin look ashy. You need to use the barest minimum and then really work the blush into your face blending well until absorbed. Only that way can you get a nice glowy finish. I definitely would not recommend this on anyone other than the lightest skin tone because it's very silvery white on your skin. They do have another shade in a darker gold bronze color which might be more suited to darker skin tones which I would like to purchase in the future. It leaves a nice smooth finish on your skin that lasts all day without any irritations or a caked up feeling. All in all I'm glad with the purchase and the price point is way better than Guerlain although Guerlain Meteorites are still my favorite but if your looking for a way to try powder balls before splurging big this product is a good buy.  The review for those two other Skin Food blushers pictured above are coming soon. I also want to remind you guys to use those codes I listed a few posts back because I got a great deal with my Steve Madden 35% off and free shipping. I used the code on a cute nude platform shoe, saved $40! Stay beautiful! XOXO
Availability: The Skin Food-currently does not ship to USA  $25 on Ebay.
