HERD (His Empowered / Ready Disciples) Our Jr. High group who meet during the 10:30 service every other Sunday.
ENTERING GOD’S STORY
This year the HERD is entering God’s story starting “in the beginning.” Our hope and prayer is that these experiences will engage those who are hearing the story for the 1st time and those hearing it for the 100th time. Please feel free to bring a friend. New people are always welcome.

Entering God's Story: The Tabernacle
The HERD team recently reconstructed our own tabernacle so that we could enter into that part of God’s Story.
After we entered the Gate, the first station was the Brazen Altar where sacrifices took place twice a day.
Unlike those other high priests, [Jesus] does not need to offer sacrifices every day. They did this for their own sins first and then for the sins of the people. But Jesus did this once for all when he offered himself as the sacrifice for the people’s sins. —Hebrews7:27 (NLT)
Laver: Students washed their hands like the priests before entering further in.
Let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water. —Hebrews 10:22 (NLT)
Praying at the Menorah
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. —1 Peter 2:9Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” —John 6:35
Altar of Incense
May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.—Psalms 141:2
Holy of Holies
Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body. - Hebrews 10:19,20
