The Royal Mews

The Royal Mews is the mews (or stables) of the British Royal Family, located in the grounds of Buckingham Palace. Here you can see the the Gold State Coach along with various horse-drawn carriages and motor cars, used for coronations, State Visits, royal weddings, the State Opening of Parliament and official engagements. For most of the year the stables are home to the working horses that play an important role in The Queen's official and ceremonial duties.

The Queen's Gallery is a permanent space dedicated to changing exhibitions of items from the Royal Collection, the wide-ranging collection of art and treasures held in trust by The Queen for the Nation.

Have your cameras at the ready as we stop for photos at Sir Christopher Wren’s masterpiece, St. Paul’s Cathedral where Admirals Nelson and Wellington lie buried and where Princess Diana was married. Then join us at the Tower of London that was built nearly a thousand years ago, during the reign of William the Conqueror, and is now home to the Crown Jewels protected by the famous Beefeaters. The imposing former palace was once used as a fortress and a prison and your guide will take you to see Traitors Gate where prisoners entered the Tower for the last time!



Next we take a leisurely cruise on the River Thames that passes Shakespeare’s Globe, Cleopatra’s Needle and London Bridge before we arrive at Westminster pier, rejoin the bus and head for Buckingham Palace. Here we make our way to the perfect spot to watch the world famous Changing of the Guard ceremony as the soldiers, dressed in their fabulous tunics and busbies march to military music. What a morning!

TOWER OF LONDON

Private tour away from the crowds..Following our coach drive past some of Londons most famous landmarks including Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament we arrive at the Tower of London where we are met on the middle drawbridge by our very own Yeoman Warder. Leading us into this world heritage site before it opens to the public our Beefeater will take us on a private guided tour explaining the history behind this fortress of imprisonment and torture. We are also the first group to see the Crown Jewels before enjoying some free time to explore on our own. Why not visit Traitors Gate, the armouries or the Bloody Tower? And keep an eye out for the famous Ravens. Tradition has it that if the Ravens leave the Tower the monarch will fall!

CHANGING OF THE GUARD

Departing the Tower we head to The Mall to watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony as one of the Queens Foot Guard Household Regiments march from St. James Palace to Buckingham Palace to military music dressed in their world famous tunics and busbies.*

THAMES RIVER CRUISE & PUB LUNCH

Next we enjoy a short cruise on the River Thames as we enjoy excellent views of St. Pauls Cathedral and Shakespeares Globe before heading for a traditional pub lunch in Whitehall, close to Downing Street, the residence of the Prime Minister. ST PAULS CATHEDRAL

We start the afternoon part of our tour with a visit to St Pauls Cathedral. This masterpiece was designed in 1673 by Sir Christopher Wren, our tour will include listening to the 1695 organ that Mendelssohn once played and visi the tombs of Nelson and Wellington. With your professional tour guide you can also test the unique acoustics of the Whispering Gallery, not nirmally visited by tour groups. On Sundays when viewing is restricted, there will be an opportunity to enter and enjoy one of the services.

LONDON EYE

Standing at an amazing 135 metres above the centre of London, the London Eye is the worlds highest observation wheel and offers magnificent panoramic views - on a clear day is is possible to see as far as Windsor Castle!
