Trend:Senna's 1930's Vintage Inspired Beauty

My Senna Catalog arrived today!
I tweeted about how the 1930's fashion was making a comeback this fall awhile back along with a mini mention in a post concerning Givenchy creating this mysterious decade of femme allure for a fashion editorial in Vogue Italy. That mini post can be found here. Although I didn't get a chance to post images of Givenchy's shoot today my Senna Cosmetic catalog arrived in the mail with a fantastic futuristic take on the 1930's trend with beauty styled by make-up guru and founder Eugenia Weston. If your have never heard of Senna Cosmetics before you should take a moment to visit the site to familiarize yourself with this professional quality line. If your one of those make-up connoisseurs like myself perhaps you might remember years back when Senna made the Black Russian lip color the hottest thing next to the Chanel Vamp shade. As a matter of fact my Black Russian lipstick and Chanel vamp lip & polish are still in my make-up trunk case. How apropos that the blood red vampire lips are back again and Senna has got a few gorgeous shades out just in time. What I really love about Senna is that at the mention of it most girls aren't too familiar with this line so it feels like having a well kept secret {giggling childishly to myself} mmm okay secrets out now... Another reason I love Senna is that they always make those great little special effect items such as diamond dust powders, creamy pearl highlighters which usually are featured around the holidays as limited editions. They also put out the best little pamphlets with beautiful photography showcasing hot trends of the moment along with helpful tips and how to co-ordinate shades for certain looks. I used to collect the little pamphlets but that stopped when my life started becoming more organized. As for the 1930's this is one of my favorite decades in American fashion. One reason being the irony of  such hardships faced by  women during the Great Depression where shopping for clothes was a mere fantasy as ladies had to make due sewing and mended their own clothing. Yet it was this very decade which gave us the most glamorous beauty icons such as Bette Davis,Jean Harlow,Josephine Baker and Vivien Leigh with all their sultry decadence who's influence can still be felt today. As for the look above-don't you just love the gorgeous intricate lace tattoo artwork done on the model with the Senna symbol on her arm? GORGEOUS!  The take on the hairstyle is also beautiful by not using the usual platinum blond color of that era but a futuristic silver. The soft mannequin skin with contrasting vamp lips is perfect. I'm listing the shades used on the model in the photo above if your interested in any of the products. What do you girls think of this look or of the 1930's in general?  Drop a comment. If you shop now you get free goodies. Stay beautiful! XOXO
