Funky Go Jane Haul

These are a few pieces I recently found at Go Jane. The top bubble dress was hard to resist and the other color I wanted sold out the following day. These go fast! I don't blame you guys for snatching them up quickly because the prices are super.

I wish I could find top and bottoms that match my size because my bust is larger than my waist, my waist is a couple sizes smaller. This dress in medium is baggy in my waist but if I had gotten a small it meant my boob's would have been suffocating and we don't want that. Anyone else have this problem? I'm going to wear this with tall platform boots.

The pants were so funky I knew they would sell out and there were only a few left. I grabbed the size small because of the elastic waistband and they fit right. These are so on trend and almost look like a pair of thriftier Missoni knit pants. Thrifty is good, times are tough... They are right on trend because Mod styles are in and these have that sixties vibe to them. I'm not a huge fan of that era but it's nice to have something trendy on hand although I'll be using this pair for a party or something like and that not for everyday wear. They are really long and baggy so platforms are a must with these pants. I'll also probably be wearing a solid top since the bottom is pattern heavy. What you can't see is that they have these weird sheer boy shorts attached inside for modesty. This has to be the most unusual item I purchased in a long time. Browse Go Jane today for daily deals and funky stuff before they sell out. Stay beautiful! XOXO

Too Faced Custom Palette Made Just For Me!

my personal custom message + my choice of wallpaper
I got to choose the eyeshadow and blush color and primer

SHADE:Lucky/Charms

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. Today I'll be reviewing Too Faced Custom Palette which I tweeted about many times while it was being sold for reduced price as it no longer is available so I hope you all had a chance to grab a set for yourself. I believe last year I posted the news when Too Faced started offering these custom made palettes which I always wanted to try but somehow it slipped my mind. Anyhow, Too Faced recently offered these custom palettes at $17.99 which was half price from the original $37.99 price tag. I am so glad I purchased one at sale price because I would have been upset if I paid the full price and I'll explain why. Even thought these are sold out as of now maybe the info will be useful for you if they decide to relaunch the custom palette idea. In the meantime check out the site for the launch of the new fall collection.

What's included in this set:
A palette with a mirror
your choice of background design
message of your choice
your choice of blush shade
your choice of eyeshadow shade
your choice of primer, mascara or eyeliner
an optional gift card tag (which is included even if it isn't a gift)

I choose the girl background in pink, light pink blush )which looks like peach instead), my fave Too Faced Primer and a combo set of eye-shadows in Lucky/Charms.

What I didn't like:
The palette size: it it tiny! The size is like 4 X 4 inches. They don't make mention of the size online and I thought it would be bigger for the price they were originally selling it for.

I ordered a fresh pink blush yet it looks like the peach option they were also offering it. A little too peachy for me.

The cardboard material felt a little cheap.

What I love:
The eyeshadow are gorgeous! They are nicely pigmented and shimmery but not tacky. These colors are still available in the Too Faced Duo set and the shade is Lucky Charms. Lucky is Emerald Foil and Charms is a beautiful Golden light Green. A great combo for a ethereal mermaid look

I also love Too Faced Primer. I have several of the tubes and it's weird I never reviewed it. I'll get around to it one day.

So there you have it. A good palette because you get to pick the color options but a not so great value at full price. Maybe they put it on sale because they weren't selling fast enough. Perhaps they can improve this idea in the future. I'm glad I grabbed it on sale. Still, I got to try the fabulous Lucky Charm duo shadows and have a customized little box with my name and motto on the cover. When the shadows run out I can place my little trinkets inside plus my name on the box looks cute on my vanity table. Anyone have this? Stay beautiful! XOXO

FINAL DAY TODAY TO ENTER MY GIVEAWAY! YOU HAVE TILL MIDNIGHT TO EMAIL ME YOUR PHOTO. SABITHA13@YAHOO.COM THANKS!

Go Jane Slouchy Color Block Dress Haul

cute!
a little wrinkled out of the package
If I had known medium fitted well I would have purchased the
other color options before they sold out.

Yesterday I mentioned my Go Jane order arrived so for today's post I'm going to review what I think about it. A little note-this was purchased with my own money. It's a slouchy color-block knit dress which I originally had chosen for my review outfit but the color I wanted was only available in medium so I left it. I happen to notice it went on sale last week and I figured why not try it in medium, if it's too small I'll return it. I usually wear medium but the photo made the dress look small and tight making me think I should size up. I'm glad I got it because Medium is perfect! This style is baggy and fits right. I'm glad I grabbed it before it sold out and it's just too bad I lost out on the black/beige shade I really wanted. This black/mauve (pale purple) is just as beautiful. I feel it might be a little short for me but I plan on wearing it with black tights and tall black knee high platform boots.

Color-block garments are a staple for the upcoming fall season and I'm definitely looking out for more styles like this. Dolman sleeves are coming back as well which is something else to keep in mind when shopping for your fall wardrobe. The quality of the dress isn't high end designer but it's not flimsy either, sewn well and about the same material used in mall/boutiques stores at outrageously lower prices.

The dress looks longer in my photo because it has been laid out flat on the table but it's above the knee and all that material gathers up around the waist giving the impression of two garments. This style is forgiving in the waist area and very comfortable. I'm glad I grabbed one even though I missed out on my first color choice. I was going to add a link for you guys but I see it has sold out in just a few days after going on sale, oops! But if you scoure the website I'm sure you'll find something you like if only an accessory. Don't forget Go Jane does a Deal Of The Week and this week it's a cute one piece tank top romper for $8! But hurry because they sell fast. More reviews are coming soon I just need some extra time to swatch and photograph the products so please be patient. The items I will be reviewing next are mineral cosmetics, Tarte cheek stain, natural skincare and some more jewelry hauls. And don't forget you have till August 8th to submit a photo for my Hold Me Bag Giveaway. I'm loving the photo's you guy's have already sent to me so keep them coming. Stay beautiful! XOXO

Go Jane "Deal Of the Week" Maxi Skirt Arrived!

I managed to snag the purple, the rest all  Sold Out!
 nice material and fabulous shade
slinky, silky fine jersey knit fabric
the fabric weave appears to have silvery violet hues to it
 medium size in juniors
$8 Maxi Skirt, can you believe it?
Actually $6.38 with 20% off!
My total $12.38 WOO!

Yesterday I introduced my subscribers to Go Jane and mentioned that I purchased a maxi skirt from the Go Jane Deal of The Week along and today it arrived in the mail, it was ordered like three days ago!

This skirt is gorgeous! I'm kicking myself for not grabbing the orange and the navy Ahh! It was only $8!!! I have seen similar types also in a nice slinky micro fine jersey material for around $50. I had the black skirt in my cart but when I went to check out it was gone. Someone paid for it before I did, AHHH!

Why am I so hysterical? Besides the fabulous bargain, this skirt is really beautiful in person. Even thought it's a solid color the weave of the fabric makes it appear to have slivers of silverish violet flecks in it. The photo online doesn't do it justice because you can't see the material up close and it makes it look like a flat solid but it's nice. I hope they bring it back because I want more colors, even if it goes back to regular price.

For this sizing, I purchased medium and I find a small would have been good too because of the stretch hand to it. The fine jersey fabric feels super silky and it has this fun fold over waist band which is nice and comfortable. I can't believe I didn't get the orange, boo hoo... oh well, it's all Sold Out now and I will be waiting for the next deal of the week along with another pair of skull earrings purchased last night. Can you tell I'm loving this website! Stay beautiful! XOXO
Sizing note: Go Jane sizes are Juniors. If you wear women sizes refer to the size chart and size up

Jeffrey Campbell Limited Ed. ADI Holographic Platforms

This is the actual color which has more richness and is prettier than the advertisement
up close shot- the brighter the light the more the holograms sparkle
Hello Halo's

Jeffrey Campbell Holographic Platforms-the ad shows the shoes paler than they actually are

 J. Campbell's signature crossword shoe box

My Jeffrey Campbell Hologram shoes arrived and I thought I would review them for you guys. Jeffrey Campbell designs as most of you know are rather "out there" with certain styles showing innovation while other designs look just plain silly. For me, I fell in love mostly with the Foxy platforms because the rest are too far fetched to consider wearing. Unusual is good in moderation along with the practicality factor or else they just end up looking like "costume" shoes that you will either probably let sit in your closet forever after the novelty wears off or break them out for Halloween.

I chose the "Adi" shoe not only because it goes with the current glam seventies style trends but because even after the trend wears down they can still be beautifully paired with summer sundresses, denim's and can be worn around the holidays when a little glimmer & sheen adds that celebratory drama to party outfits. So although I will not be wearing these to the grocery store I'm sure there will be plenty of uses for them. Besides, you guys know how I lust & fiend for anything holographic lately. But if you want to know the real reason for me purchasing these it's because I thought they would go perfect with an outfit I am planning on wearing for my upcoming birthday next month, these shoes looked as if they were made for that look. This was a sort of an early birthday gift purchased with a gift card given to me.

Some info on the these shoes:

Sizing: JC either runs one size large or 1/2 size smaller depending on the shoes. This style is true to size. I usually wear an 8 and this fits true to size. I tried on 7.5 because I thought they ran big but it was sooo tight! And sometimes I can wear a 7.5 in other brands so don't go down a size.

Platform heel: Constructed of wooden material measuring at 5 inches in height with a 2.5 platform.
They have crisscross straps which are a little annoying but hopefully my feet will adapt after breaking them in. They are actually comfortable to wear and your feet stay balanced.

The color: These thick plastic type holographic rainbow gold. The varying faceted shades when the light hit the shoes are gold with blue, green, violet shifts. In low light the rainbow colors are not as visible but are more apparent in the brightest lighting.

They also come with two separate dust bags for each individual shoes.

In other news:

I wanted to make a quick mention I will be away for a birthday celebration starting this weekend and will be returning around the end of next week so stay tuned for all the review on products I didn't get around to testing yet such as that Luster White system recently sent to me that I tweeted about. There are also more guest posts coming up and I started a little undercover fashion detective mission to bring you guys the low down on a current shopping craze that's changing the face of how we purchase products. I'm looking forward to doing that write up for you guys. I'm also looking into doing a special health feature on something that is close to my heart in memory of someone and will ask for blogger help in this matter as I think most women think of doing things like this but don't have all the behind the scenes facts or might be scared to try as I have been. I'm also going to try to update my abandoned foodie blog later tonight with my Arancini (rice balls) recipe. I think I need 8 arms to do all the things needed to be done in a day! But I haven't forgot about it so please be patient and thanks to those of you who subscribe to Project Lucania as it means a lot to me. I wish everyone a safe happy weekend. Stay beautiful! XOXO

I'm now on Facebook and if you can drop on by and "like" the page it would be appreciated as I'm trying to get it out there. If you have a Facebook page you would like me to connect with drop me a comment. Thanks!

YSL "ARTY RING" PHENOMENON + MY OWN COPY

THE "COPY-CATS"

My copy-cat in faux turquoise ring

looks like the real thing but more affordable
 nice weighty metal material
you can wear the stone upside down or either way
back side view
a couple of new knuckle duster double rings I purchased

trending crystal "armor" two finger knuckle ring

 Roman Laurel Leaf knuckle ring

If you were to buy one and only one piece of jewelry this season this is the "IT" piece to buy. The YSL "ARTY" RING is causing quite the stir again for spring after it's initial Fashion Runway appearance last year. Gracing stylish fashionable and celebrity fingers this piece is hardcore glam. For 2011 hipsters everywhere want to get arty yet again in desperate need to own one of these "moonstone" shaped gems after last season's brilliant success.
Unfortunately the task of actually owning one may prove quite daunting as these have sold out faster than the time it took for websites to list them. Persival had better luck on his quest for the "Holy Grail". Yes, that's it... the Yves St. Laurent brand has contributed to fashion history once more by guaranteeing a place of "iconic" status for this lusty little ring that will be talked about, imitated and photographed for years to come. Who knew a little golden stone ring could cause such a feverish stir?
However, on the plus side if you hunt like a mad dog searching for a rabies cure and head on over to net-a-porter.com or websites of sort's you might be one of the lucky few to find the last couple remnants in stock. Of course there's that pesky little issue of price... If you have the $250 to $400 to splurge on this investment buy then I envy you.  But If your like me and would rather use the cash for life nourishing groceries, don't despair. Grab yourself a copy-cat like I did! Oh course I know it's not the same...but it's just as nice of a bold statement piece and the $40 price tag is a can do. My second piece is already on order and counting the days till it arrives. Do you own the genuine YSL?  You likey? Please discuss. Stay beautiful! XOXO

BCBG Generation Sequin "Tina" Clutch

nice metal hardware with BCBG logo

see the price tag below, I didn't pay it, got it on sale muhahaha

opens up then folds over

clutch closes with magnetic discs hidden under sequins
so many pockets and zippered compartments inside the bag

I'm in the middle of swatching this large Tokidoki palette which is taking me some time to finish up so in the meantime I'm typing up a "loot" post today. I found this gorgeous BCBG Generation Sequin "Tina" Clutch and fell in love! It was somewhat pricy but the website selling it  had this great promotion and sale so for this $58 retail clutch it only cost me $39.99 shipped with taxes. Sales are great! The photos doesn't do this clutch justice, it's super shiny and really big at 12 x 5 inches and in the inside there are tons of zippered compartments, cell phone holders and other pockets. What really made me fall in love were the gorgeous combination of purple, greens and golds. I'll definitely be using this clutch a lot. There was this phase back in the early 90's were I had to have everything holographic and glittery which thankfully didn't last long but now the fever is back except this time I'm looking for more sophisticated holo's and sequins which will allow me to use the accessories for years to come. There's still this nylon white rainbow holographic snow suit skirt and hoodie jacket set (with fur on the hood) that's still hanging in my closet and ummm I'm a little too mature for it now so that's why I'm trying to be a bit choosier with my new found glittery craze. That poor white suit looks like a snow bunny alien party frock! The only way I could justify wearing it again is if snow bunny party crazed aliens invaded the planet! I blame Alicia Silverstone in the movie "Clueless" for getting me hooked into those things back then. As if... What is it about shiny shiny disco things that gets me so excited?  More reviews coming soon. Stay beautiful!  XOXO
