Spring To Fall 2011 Trend- Nature Inspired Stone Cuff

V BY EVA SIMULATED AGATE STONE BRACELET:
IN AN ANTIQUE GOLD FINISH. AN ELEGANTLY FASHIONABLE WAY TO HONOR MOTHER NATURE WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK. retail $40.00
My Eva cuff

LESS EXPENSIVE VERSION:

PURCHASED AT MASS MARKET. EQUALLY A BOLD STATEMENT PIECE TO FIT ANY BUDGET. retail $17

I found this great faux agate gem cuff for $17

The fashion accessories scene may have been dominated by fierce rings recently including such styles as the double bar, full four finger sweep, outrageously bold stone settings and the popular variety knuckle duster rings. And while this finger candy gem trend is still going strong and likely to carry into the next season or so another hot accessory piece is making it's move to the forefront, the bracelet. Not just any bracelet style but those inspired by mother nature herself and in particular gemstones.

Designers are looking towards nature to come up with the most beautiful soothing bracelet collections they have ever given us to date and this time they see the forest for the trees because that's exactly the place which offers a source of inspiration for vine motifs, hammered twig shapes, bulky geometric bold stones/gems, and branch shaped metals.  And one of the hottest stones you'll find everywhere this year is Agate with purple being the shade of choice. You don't have to break the bank with this trend because agate bracelet's are available with the genuine article starting at retail $1,000 and upwards to mass market faux agate priced around $10 making this a trend everyone can add to their wardrobe.

Other stones of choice that are making a big splash right now are moonstones, turquoise, amber, coral and agate and while the stones can be fitted into so many styles the bracelet of choice that's hot right now is the cuff. I recently did a mini write up on cuff bracelet trends which can be viewed here and from the look of it stylists are still making this trend a must "go to" piece branding organic inspired cuffs the perfect attention grabbing accessory for Spring/Fall 2011.  And it's not just stones and gold hammered metals that are lusted after in the wrist-ware department, it's seemingly anything taken from nature such as butterfly's, insects, leaves, wood and everything serene in nature spotlighting the beauty of our earth.

How you can incorporate or wear this accessory trend is really easy.

Get several gemstone bangles {Indian wedding bracelets are also on trend right now} and pile them up for added flair.

If your wearing three quarter sleeves cuffs are versatile enough to wear on the wrist or adjusted to fit the upper arm creating a modern exotic mystique.

Have big bold stones or gems in your bracelet, pair them up with sleek menswear inspired pant suits to give you that soft feminine edge to your look.

If delicate trinkets and frilly smocks are more your style layer small link bracelets entwined with leather that adorn butterfly or other animal motif charms to hang sweetly around your wrist.

Going for a really bold personality statement, then grab the biggest oversize gem cuff in the brightest coral shades and wear one on each arm.

Are you more the vintage or tribal type persona?  Metal not your style? Don't worry because this trend carries into more large vintage style gem's encased in Lucite cuff bangles and funky tribal fabric coated cuffs with stoneware embellishments. Your creativity knows no bounds in styling an outfit so play around with this look and come up with whatever outfit/bracelet combination that makes you happy. This is a fun and inexpensive way to change up your wardrobe this fall while allowing your own unique personality to shine through with a nature inspired bracelet of your choice. How are you wearing you cuff bracelet? Stay beautiful! XOXO
Have a super weekend!

close up necklace-very pretty

I'm excited to be able to review this fabulous girl's online retailers for those of you who are not yet aware of the Go Jane website. For this review publicity sent me a clothing piece of my choice for my consideration of which I opted to have the Floral Print Smocked Maxi Dress sent to me. My first choice was this great two-tone slouchy dress but it sold out fast! This dress is equally nice and if you guy's see something you like grab it before it's gone.

*** I want to mention the Skull Earrings & the Bambi necklace was purchased with my own money. The prices were so great that while I was skimming through the website I found these two pieces I just had to have plus I had a discount code of 20% off. The Bambi necklace because I have been searching for the perfect Bambi charm for years and every time I found one it seemed to childish to wear but this is just right. And as for the Skull earrings, as most of you know I collect skulls motif pieces but the real reason I wanted these were because they look like a piece from my fave jewelry designers, Delfina Dellettrez Collection. If you check my site I'm sure I have done posts on her jewelry.  I saw a pair from her last season that looked just like these for $800 + ! I don't have that much to spend and these are just as nice. The quality is good and the spike tip is a nice metal. I might grab another pair in silver.

Some product info on the dress before  post more information on Go Jane and my results with the products, customer service, etc...

Floral print smocked maxi dress :Layered floral print maxi dress designed with a smocked bodice and ruffled trim detail, finished with adjustable tie closure straps. Length from shoulder to hem: 57.5 inches. 100% Polyester. Hand wash cold, hang dry. Imported. $46

About Go Jane Clothing & Website :

Go Jane.com is an Internet retailer of fashion forward apparel for progressive young women.  We specialize in offering unique and daring styles that cant be found elsewhere.  The web site is designed to provide the most dynamic selection of clothing on the Internet by constantly introducing new styles and products.   We add over 100 new styles every week to keep you at the forefront of fashion.  Why wait for the next catalog of the same old pictures?  Find something new at GoJane.com.

What I think about the dress: The quality of this dress is really great. The fabric is light and airy yet substantial and sewn right. It's also completely lined with a nice silky type polyester so you have modesty and not have to worry about your undergarments peeking through. I love this beautiful floral print in creamy pink and purple hues but the best part is the flowy material and ruffles layers. You can easily spend a hundred dollars for this in a boutique which makes the $46 price tag even sweeter. An important note on this dress: it's super maxi! I have to wear platforms or heels with this and if I wanted to wear sandals or flip flops I would have to have it hemmed like 4 inches or so. If your over 5 feet 7 it might sit above your ankle but on me it falls past my ankle. Go Jane offers each piece in a variety of shades and all sizes to suite everyone.

The Sizing: I'm 5 feet 5 inches and always shop in the Juniors section usually wearing a size 7-9, Medium and when the item looks cut shorter or smaller in the bust area I grab a large in Juniors. I went by the size chart and decided to go for a large but a medium would have been just fine. Since the bust area is ruched and stretchy it could have been a better fit. Plus the waist is Empire which makes the bottom portion very roomy and forgiving in that area. Still it fit's good and this style is meant to be worn a little loose and flowy. The size chart is pretty standard and you can always return an item for an exchange or refund with no hassles, just go over the merchant's policy. I went a size up because I have noticed how sizing has changed over the years with each size getting smaller even thought a medium would have been great, you can see form the photo that the large isn't that much of a difference, maybe by a couple of inches.

The website: Go Jane has amazing savings and deals such as the daily or weekly deal when you can grab a sale item for cheap! I found a maxi skirt for $8!!! I will do a post when I get that skirt in the mail. So if your on a budget you will definitely love shopping at  Go Jane. They have everything from casual dresses, pants, denim, formal occasion gowns, shoes, jewelry, accessories, and even cute makeup. The website caters to a more youthful age group with trendy pieces and a plethora of mini's so no office wear here but what ever age group you can still find pieces to add to your wardrobe at unbelievable prices. I'm not a teenager but still managed to find basic items I can wear along with jewelry pieces that are mature enough for me to pair up with outfits.  As for the shipping, it's super fast! I got my jewelry in less than a week with no damages. If you spend over $50 there's always free shipping which is helpful. If your a mom you can get an entire wardrobe for your teen for the same price it would cost to get a few pieces at larger retail or mall boutiques so that alone saves you a ton of cash.

My final thoughts on Go Jane and my shopping experience: This is a website to add to you bookmark tab so you can check for daily, weekly deals or just splurge on some great trendy pieces. You get your items shipped quickly and packaged nicely but if you have any order issues customer service is very helpful. There is a large variety of shades, sizes and tastes for everyone at Go Jane with fabulous prices, free shipping over $50 and tons of sales. Although the merchandise caters to a more youthful crowd and there are no designer brands if you search around there's is likely to be something you will love even if your not in your twenties. I recommend Go Jane not only because I recieved an item form publicity but because I become a customer myself purchasing jewelry pieces with my own money and a fabulous maxi skirt for $8 which I will review when it get's here. I really enjoy this website and will frequent it every chance I get and at the moment I have my eyes set on other cute pieces on my to buy list. Anyone shop here? Stay beautiful! XOXO

YSL "ARTY RING" PHENOMENON + MY OWN COPY

THE "COPY-CATS"

My copy-cat in faux turquoise ring

looks like the real thing but more affordable
 nice weighty metal material
you can wear the stone upside down or either way
back side view
a couple of new knuckle duster double rings I purchased

trending crystal "armor" two finger knuckle ring

 Roman Laurel Leaf knuckle ring

If you were to buy one and only one piece of jewelry this season this is the "IT" piece to buy. The YSL "ARTY" RING is causing quite the stir again for spring after it's initial Fashion Runway appearance last year. Gracing stylish fashionable and celebrity fingers this piece is hardcore glam. For 2011 hipsters everywhere want to get arty yet again in desperate need to own one of these "moonstone" shaped gems after last season's brilliant success.
Unfortunately the task of actually owning one may prove quite daunting as these have sold out faster than the time it took for websites to list them. Persival had better luck on his quest for the "Holy Grail". Yes, that's it... the Yves St. Laurent brand has contributed to fashion history once more by guaranteeing a place of "iconic" status for this lusty little ring that will be talked about, imitated and photographed for years to come. Who knew a little golden stone ring could cause such a feverish stir?
However, on the plus side if you hunt like a mad dog searching for a rabies cure and head on over to net-a-porter.com or websites of sort's you might be one of the lucky few to find the last couple remnants in stock. Of course there's that pesky little issue of price... If you have the $250 to $400 to splurge on this investment buy then I envy you.  But If your like me and would rather use the cash for life nourishing groceries, don't despair. Grab yourself a copy-cat like I did! Oh course I know it's not the same...but it's just as nice of a bold statement piece and the $40 price tag is a can do. My second piece is already on order and counting the days till it arrives. Do you own the genuine YSL?  You likey? Please discuss. Stay beautiful! XOXO

Trend Alert: Feather Earrings

If you missed the trend alert during the Spring 2011 Runway shows here's an update on an accessory must have in your summer wardrobe this season- feather earrings. It's one of the hottest trends this year showing up on fashionable celebrity lobes everywhere. From the runway, red carpet and on the street the bird isn't the word but FEATHERS is. And this phenomena doesn't stop with the ear because feathers are a versatile accessory all around gracing gorgeous necklaces, pendants, jackets, purse trim and even shoes. If dazzle me crystals were all the rage a season back it's been replaced by feathers or at least in a close race because let's face it shine & sparkle never lose it's luster.

The best thing about feathers is that they can really pull a look together and anyone can rock it! You can go bold with pieces that flow languidly down to the neck or wear them short. Either way creating a showstopping look that also accentuates your hairstyle. Conservative? Feel like these might scream wild child? Opt for the more natural neutral tones. Want to be the center of attention?  Add a colorful pop to a dull outfit with hot neon shades such as bright fuchsia, turquoise, purple and orange that are trending colors this season. Rock n Roll much? Choose a pair with metal dangling hardware. And you need not own a full on Bohemian wardrobe to wear these because they can be paired with hip flared denim, a sexy night on the town dress and even with a more demure two piece ensemble. The added touch of these delicate nature inspired feathery wisps add a certain  chic, classic and feminine touch complementing any style.

A fabulous affordable little luxury available at various price points, colors, and  length that every woman can pull off as well as being a great investment piece. Feather's are one of those accessories that eventually turn up every season or so. Grab yourself several pairs and you'll always have them on stand by. I personally can attest to this because in my entire lifetime from toddler, tween, teen and up, feather accessories have always been a part of my life. Fly solo or flock with your friends to your fave boutique or outlet center this spring and happy shopping my fine feathered friends. Stay beautiful! XOXO

On a personal note: My favorite recollection was back in junior high when girls were stabbing each other in the back to see who could wear the prettiest (and the most) feathers in their hair. Ah....childhood memories. Even thought I'm glad I managed to save a few pieces I'm certainly buying more because they are ten tines the fabulousness than they ever were back then. I managed to snag a purple pair for only $8.00 and can't wait to grab some more. Which one's will you buy?

P.S. PLEASE PURCHASE FEATHERS LABELED MAN MADE OR SYNTHETIC
YOU MUST CHECK LABEL-SOURCE OR CONTACT WEBSITE IF PURCHASED ONLINE

Keep in mind some genuine feathers are harvested cruelty free without any harm to the birds because they shed and pluck their own feathers during mulching process several times a year. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FINDING THIS OUT IF ITEM IS NOT LABELED. Some online web merchants such as HOT TOPIC sell stylish man made feather jewelry for low prices. BE CRUELTY FREE. THANK YOU

Trend Alert: Gold Cuff Bracelet

The gold cuff-similar to the gladiator sandal as an iconic accessory staple in the history of world fashion. From it's ancient origins as early as 7,000 in Egypt, Africa, China, Greece and Rome as well as a favorite in Victorian times has managed to thrive into the modern day woman's wardrobe.

A little snippet of fun facts on the history of this highly popular style of jewelry:

In Egypt and Africa they were carved from wood and stone until the rise of the Pharaohs when charms became a popular addition for more adorned bracelets. The Babylonians wore cuffs with simple shapes and designs while the Greek women adorned various animals of snakes, and lions cuffed around the arm as bands. The Roman Empire rocketed the bracelet  into popularity as the Roman women were obsessed with golden cuffs even fashioning bangles out of coiled gold and copper. A popular cuff bracelet included twin snakes that encircle the wrist that create a cuff bracelet. Due to the Roman empires growth bracelet popularity spread along with it. Romans often used gemstones in their bracelets with a popular form as an gemstone set as an eye. The Romans also contributed the knot bracelet which is a single knot in the middle.

Hey, if it's lasted over 7,000 years us girls must really dig this style so why mess with a good thing...

And with the comeback of decadent glamour it would make sense for this golden trinket adorned by the most fashionable women since time immortal to be featured hot on the heels of fashion runways. This season's trendy cuff's offer a large variety of sizes, shapes, patterns and embellishments. You can wear a cuff with just about any piece of clothing in your wardrobe from casual denim, lacy dresses, flowy skirts, business suits and cool down to earth beach wear. A perfect fit is assured on any women's body type due to the adjustable factor making it a comfortable piece as well. The prices are the best part as you can find these in popular outlets such as Forever 21 retailing at $8 to the most chicest boutiques at whopping $10,000 price tags. Real or fake unleash your inner Glamazonian Queen this summer and pick up several cuff's because it's an investment buy at 7,000 years and counting it's unlikely ever to become outdated. Have a great weekend! Stay beautiful! XOXO

New York Couture Jewelry- Unicorn And Kitty Haul

I got the kitty in silver and the unicorn in sparkle
love love love holographic things!

Looking for some ultra glam exclusive jewelry? That really adorable fun standout piece? Something that will make heads turn tongues wiggle or just get the party started with "OMG Where did you get that?" Well look no more because my hunting skills for the unusual & entertaining has found that one stop shop for you. New York Couture manufactures limited one of a kind jewelry and clothing pieces and if you remember seeing Katy Perry sporting that cutesy Panda dress in a recent appearance well now you know where she snagged it. Hmmm...does Lady Gaga shop here too? Maybe she'll pick up the adorable hamburger dress in the new collection! Obviously these pieces are not for the working girl wardrobe, still you can find something fun you might want to wear on your own downtime for play. I couldn't resist the ginormous unicorn and kitty sparkly pendant. They are huge! You can see how big each charm falls on the models neck. These pieces are way lovelier in person and the sparkle is just right, not too glittery not to childish! At least I hope... Don't judge me-my obsession with unicorns and holograms is a direct result of being born in an era of "over the top must have fantasy filled useless things eighties decade!" Sue me-I think these are so cute. Hate on haters. The only thing I'm not 100% on is the chain attached to it because it falls awkwardly over the charm but no worries I can fix that issue with a more sophisticated necklace. Go ahead look over the site and snag a fun piece for yourself before they sell out. You owe it to the kid in ya! Is it wrong for me to want that huge glock necklace as a next buy? Stay beautiful! XOXO

As seen on MTV: New York Couture is a harmonious blend of punk-rock cool, ultra-glam and prima ballerina. The collections of mostly cotton skirts, tops and dresses are all limited edition or one-of-a-kind pieces that bring out the rock-goddess and fairy princess in every wear.New York Couture is sold worldwide (including famous boutique Patricia Field in NYC). New York Couture has been featured in well known magazines such as GLAMOUR, ELLE, NYLON, and has been worn by celebrities such as Katy Perry, Pink, Agyness Deyn, Leelee Sobieski, and more!
