Maybelline Colossal Diamond Mascara

I purchased Maybelline's Colossal Volum Express Mascara in the Limited Edition Diamonds in the Black Diamond shade last week and have been testing it out. It's a fairly new product and you might not be able to find it in some locations because it hasn't hit some store shelves yet.I was so excited to try this out and watch as my lashes were to sparkle and dazzle under the light just like the model from the commercial. But alas! no sparkles, no dazzle. It was like opening a box of raisin bran and finding no raisins. This edition is just like the regular Colossal mascara except it was supposed to add sparkles to the lashes which it failed short of doing. There were hardly any glitter flecks in the mascara even when I desperately swirled the wand into the tube within inches of my life looking for sparkles, nothing. I managed to spot a few glittery bits here and there but not even none of those showed up on my lashes, bummer! This mascara does give you length but I find it gives more volume than length. It plumps up the lashes and they look a bit thickened which is probably due to the collagen in the formula. If you have long lashes but want to volumize them then the Colossal is a good mascara to do this.I also didn't like the extra flaking that went on through out the day,it's just annoying to see mascara bits under your eyes and face. Also it doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes and it's real easy to wash off plus you don't have raccoon eyes at the end of the day from the color melting like some mascara. But it fails to deliver what it promises,to add a dimension of sparkles to your lashes. There is no point of this version from the original version, why bother making this? They should have tested it out better and added more moisture to the formula and a whole lot more of the glitter. So if you want to buy this solely for the purpose of the diamond effect skip this limited edition because the only thing limited here is the glittering diamonds that must have went AWOL and found themselves on some showgirls cleavage. It's a good enough mascara for the fact it thickens thin lashes but you can get that in the regular formula this version isn't worth buying. If you want the diamond effect on your lashes get yourself a great glitter mascara or a glitter lash top coat or buy yourself a great pair of crystal false eyelashes. I'm just going to use my Victoria's Secret Glitter lash Coat or my Shu Uemura Madonna Inspired Falsies with Diamonds when I want to add a special effect to my eyes. I'm adding a photo of my glitter lash coat from Victoria's Secret and my Shu Uemura Diamond false eye lashes below.
