Hard Candy Lash Tinsel Glitter Mascara

Tinsel just for your tree? I think not...with Hard Candy Lash Tinsel Glitter Mascara your lashes get to celebrate all year round. This fun mascara was sent to me from publicity over at Hard Candy Cosmetics in a gorgeous teal/green shade called UFO 352. Don't you just love cosmetics with adorable names especially far out spacey alien ones. A little product information listed below before I get to my review:

LASH TINSEL:A gel-based mascara with serious sparkle. Glitter Mascara creates lashes that are full of brilliant glitter for an all-out glam-tastic look! Steal the spotlight at your special occasion or simply flaunt a little shimmery flair for the fun of it!

Pro:lasting formula-smudge proof-no glitter fallout-cruelty free-add length-affordable-lash brush
Con: color is subtle unless your apply several coats

My results: This mascara was really fun to use and found the best quality was the fact that it lasted all day without any glitter fallout. As most of you guys know when working with a glitter based product it can get quite messy and irritating having to rub excess glitter from off of your face so no glitter flakes was a plus! The applicator wand is also really nice lengthening & separating the lashes without clumping. The formula was irritant free as I have sensitive eyes another plus for me. Surprisingly enough the formula was durable staying in place until you wash it off usually glitter cosmetics don't stay put. What it could improve on was more color transfer on the lashes because it took many swipes to get the color to pop but it's buildable without clumping so that's good. I added a few tips on how to get the shade to show up more on your lashes in the tip box above. Most color mascara has the same issue but at least this is cruelty free and affordable. When you do apply it right the glitter catches the light nicely but noticeable mostly when people are really close to you. I couldn't get my camera to grab a better shot than the swatch I added but you can see the sparkles a bit. I would definitely would purchase and recommend this product giving it a 4.5 starfish rating more color impact would have a 5 rating but still a really fun mascara! Stay beautiful! XOXO

Beauty Without Cruelty Mascara

Today's review is for Beauty Without Cruelty Natural Mascara-Black. This was another item sent to me from publicity for testing. First some product information on this from the manufacturer:

Ultimate Natural Mascara Black:Separates and defines each lash with long-lasting, smudge-resistance color. Experience the Color, Care & Confidence of Beauty Without Cruelty cosmetics. Classic and contemporary shades. Gentle, fragrance-free formulations.NO ANIMAL TESTING-NO ANIMAL INGREDIENTS

My results:First of all this mascara is not waterproof-they do have a waterproof formula on the website if you are looking for that. The applicator wand is fabulous as it really lengthens your lashes to the fullest. This mascara formula or the wand does not curl your lashes. This mascara really made my lashes go sky high without clumping. I do want to mention that two particular days while I was wearing this mascara one time I was cooking dinner over steamy pots that while the mascara didn't run it smudged a bit but that's because of the steam. Another time I was outside in the snow storm we had and the because of the violent winds when I went inside I noticed a little smudge because the cold air made my eyes tear up. I suffer from eye allergies and forgot to wear my shades for protection. It wasn't a lot, what you usually get from mascara so no big deal for me. No irritations were experienced around my eye area with this mascara and it lasted till the evening. I would purchase this brand again but because my runny eyes I would probably go for the waterproof version instead. The fact that it has natural ingredients such as berry wax and bamboo silk powder made me feel good as  well as the fact it's cruelty free. It's not that bad of a mascara and way better than the raccoon eyes I experienced with that Sephora Lash Booster mascara.
Pro:cruelty free-natural ingredients-paraben free-no animal ingredients-fantastic applicator-no clumping
Con: not waterproof- some smudge due to temperature changes-price might be a higher point for some
This mascara gets a 3.5 starfish rating and I would purchase this brand again as well as recommend it. If your looking for alternative mascara then this is pretty decent. I also hope the way this post review was formatted is easier for you guys to read. Stay beautiful! XOXO

Sephora Advanced Lash Booster

Up for review is Sephora's Advanced Lash Booster Mascara which was a bonus sent to me with a purchase I made awhile back. This is an advanced mascara scientifically proven to enhance four lash characteristics-length, thickness, fullness and strength. It's also supposed to make your lashes grow visibly in less than a month's time.I have been using this lash booster for almost two weeks now just to see if any lash growth happened. It did not and there is nothing special about this mascara although my lashes are already naturally super long. The worse quality about this is that is runs after an hour or so-raccoon eyes! It's hard to remove unless you use an eye makeup remover and it flakes a bit as well. The good quality of this product is that the lash brush applicator is nice and it does extend  your lashes nicely but the formula is not worth the price of this alone. In my opinion it's too costly of a product that doesn't perform what it promises to do as well as not holding up past a couple of hours. Save your cash. It gets 2 starfish ratings for the brush & for being cruelty free. Stay beautiful! XOXO

CoverGirl Lash Blast Fusion Mascara

Here is the last mascara from CoverGirl that needed to be tested by me, it's CoverGirl Lash Blast Fusion Mascara Shade Very Black 860. As a matter of fact I think it's a wrap for the products sent to me by CoverGirl with the exception of maybe a blush and eye shadow left to try out. Lash Blast is meant to give your lashes length and density with a flake free formula. It definitely is flake free and durable but I find the length with the other CoverGirl mascaras I reviewed were much more dynamic and gave more volume. It still gives a nice length just more natural looking rather than dramatic. I experienced no irritations or burning around my eyes making it a plus for eye sensitivity wearers. the formula could have had a twinge more of moisture to it but the product does come up without any clumping. It only took one swipe to get the mascara on my lashes making the application a breeze. The wand applicator is also decent although the other CoverGirl brushes were better. I especially loved the CoverGirl Lash Blast Length with nylon formula the best out of all the mascaras sent to me. It's still a good mascara at a decent price point. I should mention the tube is purple but it kept coming out dark blue in the photos I took. Stay beautiful! XOXO

CoverGirl Lash Blast Luxe Mascara

Here is another product I finally got around to testing out, it's CoverGirl Lash Blast Luxe Mascara Shade 840 Black Platinum. The difference with this particular mascara is that the formula has a hint of shimmer. This one also adds more volume than the last CoverGirl mascara I reviewed which added more dramatic length. You get length with this Luxe as well but I found it made my lashes appear more thicker and full. the wand is perfect as it sweeps the product to create a full fan of lashes without any clumps. I have to mention the glimmer and glisten does not show up on the lashes with this shade at all. They sell other colors such as  black emerald which might show a hint of shimmer but probably not much. I found that if you want shimmer lashes purchase a specific mascara which is nothing but glitter for the lashes in either silver or gold. Too Faced Cosmetics makes a nice glitter mascara. However I swipes some product on my hands and clearly you can see just a smidgen  of glittery specks unfortunately it does not show up on the lashes. The wand is amazing though and this particular wand has fifty percent more bristles than VolumeExact. I have to mention that the wand is gentle and easy on those with sensitive eyes such a myself, no allergic reactions were experienced by me with this product. The formula holds up great all day with the bare minimum flaking while washing off easily without any hassles. At first I thought it was dry when I pulled out the wand because I hardly saw any product but when sweeping it on my lashes it was enough product to give me a dramatic look without having to apply twice. The only issue for me with this was that no glitter showed up so it's pointless to include it in the formula. Maybe they can improve on this in the future because it would have been great to use this as a festive mascara. other than this it's a great product, irritant free and a economical price point. Another great must have mascara from CoverGirl that has a nice wand applicator.Stay beautiful! XOXO

CoverGirl Lash Blast Length Mascara

Shade tested:#800 very black
amazing brush!
When I was testing this product out-I was thinking why did I wait so long to try this from the entire bunch sent to me from publicity a few months back.CoverGirl Lash Blast Length mascara is a superb mascara. What makes me love this the most is an amazing brush! The brush is plastic but when touched it feels like a soft feather without being abrasive.I managed to grab a close up shot so you can see how fine the little hair like bristles are.The mascara wand is also super size in length. Some of my lashes are criss cross making it really hard to grab and straighten out when applying mascara but with this Lash Blast wand my lashes were all straightened & lengthened out perfectly! The brush is specially designed with product reservoirs at the tip to grab and extend the fine corner lashes for length impact & contains over 450 fine bristles! The formula contains Elasta-Nylon creating ultra long lashes without flaking or clumps. At first I thought the mascara was dry when I placed the wand into the formula because I had to give it a slight tug.The wand is separate in the package you add it into the mascara tube when you open it up. But then I applied it to my lashes noticing no clumps on the bristles and just one application was needed on my top and lower lashes. It wore nicely all day into the night with just a little of that shadow smudge you get under your eyes like really late at night. You really need to buy this mascara-you wont be disappointed.I'm so in love with this brush that I think I'm going to keep it when  it's done for  use with all those other expensive mascaras unused in my makeup drawer due to bad wands.I have a couple more CoverGirl mascaras to test and am curious to see how they compare to this. A great mascara at a great price...this is a keeper. Stay beautiful! XOXO

Prescriptives:False Eyelashes Mascara

If you want a mascara that will make your lashes look like your wearing falsies without the hassle of fake lash glue mess, then this is one to try.Prescriptives False Eyelashes mascara gives your lashes a nice boost of length without going over the top.A perfect mascara to wear for the office-day look giving you plush lashes with a natural look,it's just the right amount. If you want something with more intensity for night time glamour this really wouldn't be the mascara to use as it doesn't give off that dramatic volume and height for sexier eyes.It adds a deep slick look to the lashes,as if they were moisturized, which I really liked. This mascara wont irritate or sting your eyes either.I tested this in the Plush Black color. It stays on till the end of the day but flakes a bit, especially if you accidentally rub your eyes but it's not that much of a problem. The brush is good on this,it appears to be like a standard mascara brush but it separates the lashes nicely and without clumping. All in all it's a nice mascara for daily use.I would definitely buy this again.

Maybelline Colossal Diamond Mascara

I purchased Maybelline's Colossal Volum Express Mascara in the Limited Edition Diamonds in the Black Diamond shade last week and have been testing it out. It's a fairly new product and you might not be able to find it in some locations because it hasn't hit some store shelves yet.I was so excited to try this out and watch as my lashes were to sparkle and dazzle under the light just like the model from the commercial. But alas! no sparkles, no dazzle. It was like opening a box of raisin bran and finding no raisins. This edition is just like the regular Colossal mascara except it was supposed to add sparkles to the lashes which it failed short of doing. There were hardly any glitter flecks in the mascara even when I desperately swirled the wand into the tube within inches of my life looking for sparkles, nothing. I managed to spot a few glittery bits here and there but not even none of those showed up on my lashes, bummer! This mascara does give you length but I find it gives more volume than length. It plumps up the lashes and they look a bit thickened which is probably due to the collagen in the formula. If you have long lashes but want to volumize them then the Colossal is a good mascara to do this.I also didn't like the extra flaking that went on through out the day,it's just annoying to see mascara bits under your eyes and face. Also it doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes and it's real easy to wash off plus you don't have raccoon eyes at the end of the day from the color melting like some mascara. But it fails to deliver what it promises,to add a dimension of sparkles to your lashes. There is no point of this version from the original version, why bother making this? They should have tested it out better and added more moisture to the formula and a whole lot more of the glitter. So if you want to buy this solely for the purpose of the diamond effect skip this limited edition because the only thing limited here is the glittering diamonds that must have went AWOL and found themselves on some showgirls cleavage. It's a good enough mascara for the fact it thickens thin lashes but you can get that in the regular formula this version isn't worth buying. If you want the diamond effect on your lashes get yourself a great glitter mascara or a glitter lash top coat or buy yourself a great pair of crystal false eyelashes. I'm just going to use my Victoria's Secret Glitter lash Coat or my Shu Uemura Madonna Inspired Falsies with Diamonds when I want to add a special effect to my eyes. I'm adding a photo of my glitter lash coat from Victoria's Secret and my Shu Uemura Diamond false eye lashes below.
