Save the Date

After the miserable record-breaking winter we had here in the Mid-Atlantic, we’re now going for another record – it was 84 yesterday, and 90 today, breaking the 1929 record! Spring is indeed springing and the flowers are just bursting out of their buds. We’re way ahead of where we were this time last year.

So, when I venture out to the amazing Ladew Topiary Gardens on May 1, I will be expecting to see everything fully leafed-out and green! I am saying May 1, because that’s when their Second Annual Garden Festival takes place. Click on the logo below to get all of the details.Garden_Festival_at_Ladew_logo[1] The Garden Festival is the brainchild of Stiles Colwill, owner of the spectacular Halcyon House, and his partner, Jonathan Gargiulo of John Rosselli Antiques. They have gathered friends from along the East Coast to sell an amazing array of plants and garden accessories.

Here are some images from last year’s event and our visit to the gardens.

Harvey Ladew’s House and Gardens is a place that you should visit if you’re ever in the area. There’s no other place like it. They have events year ‘round, including the Garden Fest, polo matches and concerts.

To tie things together, one of the rooms in the house was designed by Ladew’s good friend, Billy Baldwin, another Baltimorean.
