Sewing and Stuff

While I should be working on any number of other things, I decided to sew new ottoman covers for my two ottomans (ottomen). I found some great linen fabric called Fez at DeBois Textiles, and thought it would be perfect. I trimmed the cover in oyster piping, which I thought looked pretty elegant against the chocolate brown. You can see the current fabric to the left of the new ottoman. Almost as soon as I bought these, someone splashed a glass of red wine on one, which also got on the other one. I usually have some books, or a gorgeous French blue cashmere blanket on them, so the wine’s disguised.

I got an e-mail reminder today about the Ladew Garden Festival this weekend at Ladew Gardens. The guest lecturer this year is Wave Hill’s Founding Director of Horticulture, Marco Polo Stufano, who will take the audience on a visual journey spanning four continents, as he shares his inspiration for creating the gardens at Wave Hill in the Bronx.
