Muslim Forum User Threatens David Letterman




















From RadarOnline: The FBI is investigating a threat made against David Letterman after a poster to an online forum for radical Muslims urged others to "cut the tongue" of the late night funnyman for a joke he made on The Late Show.

The person who wrote the comment on Tuesday -- identified as "Umar al-Basrawi" -- told users of the Shumuka al-Islam forum to punish Letterman after he made a joke about dead al Qaeda leaders Osama bin Laden and Ilyas Kashmiri on his CBS show June 8.

David Letterman Receives Top Honor at Inaugural Comedy Awards

David Letterman received the top honor as the recipient of the "Johnny Carson Award for Comedic Excellence" at the inaugural Comedy Awards.

The event, which honored the industry's top writers, directors, actors and stand-up comedians, took place in New York last month and was simulcast on Comedy Central, Spike TV, TV Land, VH1 and Nick at Nite on Sunday.

David Letterman to Adam Sandler: "What is Wrong with You?"

Letterman made a fairly benign statement regarding Sandler's mother's friends. "They all know what you do, right?"

Sandler responded with a joke that spiralled into a pretty odd place rather quickly. "My mother still thinks I'm a doctor," he quipped. "I never really told her. So every Thanksgiving her friends will come over and I'll give them pelvic exams."

Howard Stern apologizes to Letterman

Early in both of their entertainment careers, Letterman used to call Stern at home. Stern would then talk about those conversations on his radio show, which upset Letterman at the time and led to the phone calls stopping.

"I really want to apologize to you for doing that," Stern said sincerely. "And if you should call me again, I would not reveal what you said."
