NBA players locked out after no deal

The NBA's thrilling season came with a high price tag.

LeBron's move to Miami and Dirk's title in Dallas couldn't hide a simple fact: Owners insisted they were losing money, perhaps $300 million this season, and weren't interested in subsidizing a system they felt guaranteed they'd keep losing more.

So the NBA locked out its players, a long-expected move that put the 2011-12 season in jeopardy and came as the NFL is trying to end its own work stoppage that began in March.

“There’s a torn tendon in my finger,” he said. “It was just on a freak play. [Chris] Bosh got a bounce pass and stepped in. I thought I stripped him clean and then I kind of looked down and I couldn’t straighten my finger out anymore.

“So I tore a tendon in there. I guess it’ll be all right.”

Scottie Pippen LeBron is better than MJ

At the ripe age of 26, LeBron James(notes) has won two MVP awards, he has two NBA Finals appearances, several All-Star berths, and his Miami Heat team will be the odds-on favorite to win the NBA title next week as they prepare to take on the Dallas Mavericks. He also has zero NBA titles.

At the same age, NBA legend Michael Jordan had just as many titles, just as many MVP awards, and his Bulls weren't even the favorites (despite home court advantage) as they prepared to take on the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1991 NBA Finals.

All this was enough for Jordan teammate and guy-who-should-know Scottie Pippen to toss this out, while appearing on ESPN Radio Friday morning:

"Michael Jordan is probably the greatest scorer to ever play the game. I may go so far as saying LeBron James may be the greatest player to ever play the game."

Lady Gaga drops the R-Word!!!

In a recent interview with NME Gaga calls the allegations that she ripped of Madonna's Express Yourself for her new track Born This Way, retarded.

Her exact response was: "I'm a songwriter. I've written loads of music. Why would I try to put out a song and think I'm getting one over on everybody? That's retarded."

Surely that has outraged this group. But where is the outrage? A few days after Kobe gets fined by the NBA in large part because of the outrage of the LGBT community. A community by the way that is very supportive of Lady Gaga. Where is the LGBT community on this? They should call for her to clear the air on this maybe make a stupid video like Kobe had to do.

I am hoping that the reaction is just delayed. I personally think that both of them should be able to say what they want. But if you are going to jump all over Kobe for insensitive remarks be consistent and hold Gaga accountable.

The Lakers to work with GLAAD

How Gay!!!

The team and the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) announced a working relationship on Friday, the same day Bryant apologized again.

NBA commissioner David Stern says he was comfortable with his punishment of Lakers guard Kobe Bryant for using a slur on the bench during a game. Plus, Stern says the finances they shared with the players show that some teams are losing money.

"What happened in Tuesday night's game is not representative of what the Lakers stand for," Lakers spokesman John Black said. "We want to reaffirm our commitment to all our fans and our appreciation for the support we receive from all segments of society.
