LOVEMODE Junior CLothing Brand + Jacket Review

Item I picked out for review
has slight ruffled puff sleeves
beautiful ruffle detail
medium junior size

Up for review today is a gorgeous ruffle trim jacket from LOVEMODE Trendy Junior Clothing line which was sent to me for consideration and I found it waiting for me in the mail when I returned. I was allowed to pick the item for review and I chose this jacket because it's fun and flirty with jeans but I can also pair it up with skirts, leggings and a pair of nice slacks. I also have a fondness for ruffly poofy sleeves clothing but we wont tell anyone...
Lovemode has a website which caters to trendy junior clothing but if  your like me and are not above the 5 feet 5 seven height you may be able to fit into the bottoms and for the tops you would have to choose a larger size. See the size guide on the website when determining a proper fit. I generally fit into a medium in junior sizing and size up to large if the fabric is super tight or the guide suggests it's smaller than the normal med. size.

Lovemode carries tops, bottoms, denim, dresses and accessories with a large variety to select from. The styling is cute, trendy and fun with low affordable price points. You can find outfits for every occasion and even check out the new arrivals and clearance section for great finds. If this isn't for you because there are no work ensembles or designer gowns then maybe you have teenage girls or younger family members you could shop for at decent savings.

The Quality And Fit- The ruffle jacket I received was very substantial in fabric and had a nice stretch to it. The cotton was soft, sewn well and fit pretty much true to size in juniors. It snuggles nicely on my body and love the way I can wear it whether it's open or buttoned down. Although the price points are low the quality is really decent. I now you can grab yourself one too because it just went on sale!
Original price listed when I picked it out $22.89 now on sale $9.18!

I'm pleased with the quality of this brand and love the prices! I probably will scour the site again for pieces to mix and match as well as their accessories rather than full on outfits because it's a little too young for me for a complete wardrobe. Still there are many fun pieces to add at amazing prices. Ladies if you have teens, get some adorable and casual clothing here without maxing out the credit cards. Stay beautiful! XOXO

Go Jane Slouchy Color Block Dress Haul

cute!
a little wrinkled out of the package
If I had known medium fitted well I would have purchased the
other color options before they sold out.

Yesterday I mentioned my Go Jane order arrived so for today's post I'm going to review what I think about it. A little note-this was purchased with my own money. It's a slouchy color-block knit dress which I originally had chosen for my review outfit but the color I wanted was only available in medium so I left it. I happen to notice it went on sale last week and I figured why not try it in medium, if it's too small I'll return it. I usually wear medium but the photo made the dress look small and tight making me think I should size up. I'm glad I got it because Medium is perfect! This style is baggy and fits right. I'm glad I grabbed it before it sold out and it's just too bad I lost out on the black/beige shade I really wanted. This black/mauve (pale purple) is just as beautiful. I feel it might be a little short for me but I plan on wearing it with black tights and tall black knee high platform boots.

Color-block garments are a staple for the upcoming fall season and I'm definitely looking out for more styles like this. Dolman sleeves are coming back as well which is something else to keep in mind when shopping for your fall wardrobe. The quality of the dress isn't high end designer but it's not flimsy either, sewn well and about the same material used in mall/boutiques stores at outrageously lower prices.

The dress looks longer in my photo because it has been laid out flat on the table but it's above the knee and all that material gathers up around the waist giving the impression of two garments. This style is forgiving in the waist area and very comfortable. I'm glad I grabbed one even though I missed out on my first color choice. I was going to add a link for you guys but I see it has sold out in just a few days after going on sale, oops! But if you scoure the website I'm sure you'll find something you like if only an accessory. Don't forget Go Jane does a Deal Of The Week and this week it's a cute one piece tank top romper for $8! But hurry because they sell fast. More reviews are coming soon I just need some extra time to swatch and photograph the products so please be patient. The items I will be reviewing next are mineral cosmetics, Tarte cheek stain, natural skincare and some more jewelry hauls. And don't forget you have till August 8th to submit a photo for my Hold Me Bag Giveaway. I'm loving the photo's you guy's have already sent to me so keep them coming. Stay beautiful! XOXO

Holy Cow! Free People Vegan Skirt

Faux leather skirts are nothing new but Free People have managed to make one that's look's stylish, lightweight, feminine without that thrifty heavy plastic-y look usually associated with faux leather type skirts. This is certainly several steps up from the hideous counterparts sold rampantly throughout that funky no frills no brand name decade otherwise known as the eighties.

Adorable pleated skirt made of sleek faux leather. Elastic waistband. Lined.
*100% Polyurethane
*Hand Wash
*Import

Measurements for Small:
Waist: 27"
Length: 15 ½"
$148 XS to L

Although my closet still consists of genuine leather goods and I have not yet fully switched to non-leather clothing I'm slowly trying to make the switch over. If more brands would create and style fabulous vegan pieces such as this at affordable price points the switch would be easier. However I have drastically cut down on leather items and recently purchased some vegan accessories which will be posted soon and I'm more aware of what products I purchase in regards to animals/environment on a conscious level.
Small steps everyday...small baby steps. Stay beautiful! XOXO
Availability: Free People $148

close up necklace-very pretty

I'm excited to be able to review this fabulous girl's online retailers for those of you who are not yet aware of the Go Jane website. For this review publicity sent me a clothing piece of my choice for my consideration of which I opted to have the Floral Print Smocked Maxi Dress sent to me. My first choice was this great two-tone slouchy dress but it sold out fast! This dress is equally nice and if you guy's see something you like grab it before it's gone.

*** I want to mention the Skull Earrings & the Bambi necklace was purchased with my own money. The prices were so great that while I was skimming through the website I found these two pieces I just had to have plus I had a discount code of 20% off. The Bambi necklace because I have been searching for the perfect Bambi charm for years and every time I found one it seemed to childish to wear but this is just right. And as for the Skull earrings, as most of you know I collect skulls motif pieces but the real reason I wanted these were because they look like a piece from my fave jewelry designers, Delfina Dellettrez Collection. If you check my site I'm sure I have done posts on her jewelry.  I saw a pair from her last season that looked just like these for $800 + ! I don't have that much to spend and these are just as nice. The quality is good and the spike tip is a nice metal. I might grab another pair in silver.

Some product info on the dress before  post more information on Go Jane and my results with the products, customer service, etc...

Floral print smocked maxi dress :Layered floral print maxi dress designed with a smocked bodice and ruffled trim detail, finished with adjustable tie closure straps. Length from shoulder to hem: 57.5 inches. 100% Polyester. Hand wash cold, hang dry. Imported. $46

About Go Jane Clothing & Website :

Go Jane.com is an Internet retailer of fashion forward apparel for progressive young women.  We specialize in offering unique and daring styles that cant be found elsewhere.  The web site is designed to provide the most dynamic selection of clothing on the Internet by constantly introducing new styles and products.   We add over 100 new styles every week to keep you at the forefront of fashion.  Why wait for the next catalog of the same old pictures?  Find something new at GoJane.com.

What I think about the dress: The quality of this dress is really great. The fabric is light and airy yet substantial and sewn right. It's also completely lined with a nice silky type polyester so you have modesty and not have to worry about your undergarments peeking through. I love this beautiful floral print in creamy pink and purple hues but the best part is the flowy material and ruffles layers. You can easily spend a hundred dollars for this in a boutique which makes the $46 price tag even sweeter. An important note on this dress: it's super maxi! I have to wear platforms or heels with this and if I wanted to wear sandals or flip flops I would have to have it hemmed like 4 inches or so. If your over 5 feet 7 it might sit above your ankle but on me it falls past my ankle. Go Jane offers each piece in a variety of shades and all sizes to suite everyone.

The Sizing: I'm 5 feet 5 inches and always shop in the Juniors section usually wearing a size 7-9, Medium and when the item looks cut shorter or smaller in the bust area I grab a large in Juniors. I went by the size chart and decided to go for a large but a medium would have been just fine. Since the bust area is ruched and stretchy it could have been a better fit. Plus the waist is Empire which makes the bottom portion very roomy and forgiving in that area. Still it fit's good and this style is meant to be worn a little loose and flowy. The size chart is pretty standard and you can always return an item for an exchange or refund with no hassles, just go over the merchant's policy. I went a size up because I have noticed how sizing has changed over the years with each size getting smaller even thought a medium would have been great, you can see form the photo that the large isn't that much of a difference, maybe by a couple of inches.

The website: Go Jane has amazing savings and deals such as the daily or weekly deal when you can grab a sale item for cheap! I found a maxi skirt for $8!!! I will do a post when I get that skirt in the mail. So if your on a budget you will definitely love shopping at  Go Jane. They have everything from casual dresses, pants, denim, formal occasion gowns, shoes, jewelry, accessories, and even cute makeup. The website caters to a more youthful age group with trendy pieces and a plethora of mini's so no office wear here but what ever age group you can still find pieces to add to your wardrobe at unbelievable prices. I'm not a teenager but still managed to find basic items I can wear along with jewelry pieces that are mature enough for me to pair up with outfits.  As for the shipping, it's super fast! I got my jewelry in less than a week with no damages. If you spend over $50 there's always free shipping which is helpful. If your a mom you can get an entire wardrobe for your teen for the same price it would cost to get a few pieces at larger retail or mall boutiques so that alone saves you a ton of cash.

My final thoughts on Go Jane and my shopping experience: This is a website to add to you bookmark tab so you can check for daily, weekly deals or just splurge on some great trendy pieces. You get your items shipped quickly and packaged nicely but if you have any order issues customer service is very helpful. There is a large variety of shades, sizes and tastes for everyone at Go Jane with fabulous prices, free shipping over $50 and tons of sales. Although the merchandise caters to a more youthful crowd and there are no designer brands if you search around there's is likely to be something you will love even if your not in your twenties. I recommend Go Jane not only because I recieved an item form publicity but because I become a customer myself purchasing jewelry pieces with my own money and a fabulous maxi skirt for $8 which I will review when it get's here. I really enjoy this website and will frequent it every chance I get and at the moment I have my eyes set on other cute pieces on my to buy list. Anyone shop here? Stay beautiful! XOXO

Leaves Of Grass Arabesque Dress

LUSTING AFTER-This gorgeous Leaves Of Grass Arabesque Dress is on my fantasy wish list, it's just heavenly! You can view a video of the dress in action on the link provided below. In my personal opinion the styling on the page is all wrong. A raffia purse? Scratching head... Gladiator sandals? Doing my Scooby Doo impersonation-r-u-t-r-o!  Wrong wrong wrong. People get paid for this? Uh! Whatever... Those pieces are too heavy, non-complimentary and a completely different vibe for this light angelic dress. What really needs to be anchored is the stylist's eyes for better aesthetic vision. That's my unsolicited 25 cent worth opinion and I'm entitled to it-period...............

Dress Detail Info:
Leaves of Grass Arabesque tie-dye dress: white and sky-blue crinkled sheer silk-georgette, round neck, eyelets and lace-up fastening bust, gathered shoulders, three-quarter length sleeves, flared asymmetric cuffs, ruffle trim, elasticated back waist, detachable slip. Back zip fastening. 100% silk. Dry clean.

I'm not forgoing my usual flashback reggae videos instead changing it up every now and then as to keep all my subscribers happy and feel my certain eclectic tastes shouldn't be shoved in everyone's face just because it's my blog. I was just trying to expand everyone's musical horizons but sadly there were not a lot of comments when those video's were posted. So for today's Friday Fun Day video I decided to post Lady Gaga's live performance of "On The Edge Of Glory" on American Idol only because no video is up for the song yet and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song! It has a twinge of Donna Summer to it and it's fabulous! I have this love/annoyance with Lady Gaga because she is highly talented, writes lyrics, produces, plays instruments etc... but then her performance is not as enthusiastic as the level of the song. I mean this tune is high volume and electrifying then to see her just stand there and barely move. It's just annoying! I wish she would put more effort into performing as she does with all the crazy get ups she's wearing. Maybe the persona she creates get's in the way of what's underneath it all, the heart of who she really is. Shed all the crazy outfits-it's not necessary to one's talent and probably a distraction. But I still love her. And what's up with the cheesy leap of the fake ledge? Oh, I get it. She's on the edge of glory. Uh! don't mind what I'm babbling about today my fellow bloggies, the unbearable New York humidity makes a cranky pants. Harmless dribblings... Ton's of reviews are coming up for next week. I received some Batiste dry me shampoo samples, OKA. B flip flops and still have the Everyday Mineral eye shadows to review as well. Also a special fantastic interview coming up, it's the first for Venus Loves Virgo!  In other news, I changed my font color to black so the posts can be read more easily and if there is something you guys would like to see on the blog or would suggest please jot it down in the comment section. Have a great weekend. Stay beautiful! XOXO

Trend Alert:Denim Flares-How Celebs Are Wearing Them

With the resurrection of the seventies back on point it's a no brainer that one of the most iconic staple clothing piece of that era would soon follow and no doubt with celebrity's in tow. The hottest trend right now is the return of the flares! Denim flares seem to be one of those items that pop up every few seasons hanging around for the long haul without ever boring the fashion world, much like camouflage. If you don't already own a couple of pairs dust off your disco ball's and do the shopping  hustle over the weekend to add to your spring wardrobe. I'm so glad I have nothing but flares hanging in my closet! Why you ask? Well besides the fact that my soul is an intergalactic alien who's fashion spirit trapped itself in the seventies traveling through my body only to awaken with every seventies revival, they also fit pretty darn good on my 5 feet five inch frame! You see flares elongate your legs while slimming down your hips making them a perfect fit for every body type. Just don't forget to wear your platforms or you'll be in for a trip { and not that 70's groovy kind of trip ;) } I'm glad I went loopy when this trend hit like fire and ice several seasons back stocking up on all different color denim washes, and all different flare widths. Although I should have been handed over to shopper's anonymous for indulging in so many  pairs, it works out fine now because I'm teetering at fashionably broke at the moment.

I thought it would be fun to illustrate how some celebrity's are being seen out & about wearing their flares to show those "flare apprehensive" girlies out there that you don't need to go over board as a head to toe trippy hippy. The key is staying fresh & current with an updated look. Whether you throw on a nice blazer for a more finished look, a simple laid back plaid shirt or turn it up a notch with an elegant flowy blouse, you can look chic & fabulous this spring. Keep in mind the images posted are only mild flares because for better or worse they get even wider, that's right the elephant ear flares are also out and trending right now. Personally in my opinion a more toned down flare looks ultra modern, sophisticated and more importantly figure flattering. The best part with these jeans are various price points, different styles and a plethora of washes made readily available at mass market making this trend the easiest to work with this season. Anyone can and should wear these! Whether you have $500 or $30 dollars in your wallet to burn it's yours for the taking. How will you be wearing your flares this spring?  Stay beautiful!  XOXO

Free People Spring Collection: Harem Pants

There back! Harem pants from Free People's Spring Collection are fresh-funky and  fabulously made. Ever since the eighties I've had a love hate relationship with the harem pant. While they are a constant remind of MC Hammer's over played song, if done right with quality fabric, a flattering cut and nice detailing they can be really beautiful such as the pair of gorgeous Anna Molinari Harem pants (retail $985) I posted about last year-see below image...
And while this pair is half the ridiculous price of the Molinari counterpart, it's still pretty pricey but the nice thing is that you get two outfits in one for your price as these can be pulled up and converted into a jumper! I'm also loving the draped cut style as well. I would definitely buy this pair as there not as moronic looking as some other harem pants out on the market. Plus they have they exotic quality to them, now if only they would lower the price... What do you think about these? Stay beautiful! XOXO

Fingerless Leather & Lace Gloves

Newly arrived in the mail today are these funky Leather & Lace Violet Fingerless Gloves from Victoria's Secret. Normally I'm not a huge fan of VS clothes other than their really fun selection of everyday cotton panties but since winning a couple of VS Secret Santa gift cards I had to purchase an item before the card expired. Nothing really screamed at me from VS collection this year, last years picking were more interesting, even the make up collection was a little ho hum blah this year. Luckily I came across these cute gloves from the accessory link and had to have them. Being a fan of collecting purple things (objects & clothing in my room can attest to this) and seeing nothing else in site from VS that interest me I got them. I was doubly lucky because they were marked down from $69 to $39 plus free shipping was offered at the time and then the addition of my gift card made it a reasonable bargain buy. One minor snag, I had to exchange them because the sizing was waaay off to the left as usually with VS. One day they make things too small the next too big, they need to fix this annoying issue. Anyway I initially purchased small because in gloves I wear 7 and knowing VS makes things super big I wanted a nice fit. Small didn't get past my fingers! Did they make these for a Barbie Doll? Anyway had to re-order a large which fits nice and snug but just right. The size large label on this is made for size 7 gloves if you need a reference in the future. I was lucky they had the last large left because all they have now is a size medium in very limited quantity. The gloves themselves are really nice leather, really thin fine leather almost paper thin with lace trim details at the fingers. The label says Made in Italy so at least I know they quality is good. All in all I'm happy with my bargain buy loot, the savings were good and it's something different to have on as an accessory. The practicability aspect is more appealing than wearing normal full finger gloves because you have freedom of movement  when you need to open your purse and stuff like while still keeping your hands warm. If you have super duper tiny hands or wear like a size 5 in gloves you might want to grab the last few they have in stock. Stay beautiful! XOXO
Availability:Victoria's Secret sale $39.99 only size medium left
