Jeffrey Campbell Limited Ed. ADI Holographic Platforms

This is the actual color which has more richness and is prettier than the advertisement
up close shot- the brighter the light the more the holograms sparkle
Hello Halo's

Jeffrey Campbell Holographic Platforms-the ad shows the shoes paler than they actually are

 J. Campbell's signature crossword shoe box

My Jeffrey Campbell Hologram shoes arrived and I thought I would review them for you guys. Jeffrey Campbell designs as most of you know are rather "out there" with certain styles showing innovation while other designs look just plain silly. For me, I fell in love mostly with the Foxy platforms because the rest are too far fetched to consider wearing. Unusual is good in moderation along with the practicality factor or else they just end up looking like "costume" shoes that you will either probably let sit in your closet forever after the novelty wears off or break them out for Halloween.

I chose the "Adi" shoe not only because it goes with the current glam seventies style trends but because even after the trend wears down they can still be beautifully paired with summer sundresses, denim's and can be worn around the holidays when a little glimmer & sheen adds that celebratory drama to party outfits. So although I will not be wearing these to the grocery store I'm sure there will be plenty of uses for them. Besides, you guys know how I lust & fiend for anything holographic lately. But if you want to know the real reason for me purchasing these it's because I thought they would go perfect with an outfit I am planning on wearing for my upcoming birthday next month, these shoes looked as if they were made for that look. This was a sort of an early birthday gift purchased with a gift card given to me.

Some info on the these shoes:

Sizing: JC either runs one size large or 1/2 size smaller depending on the shoes. This style is true to size. I usually wear an 8 and this fits true to size. I tried on 7.5 because I thought they ran big but it was sooo tight! And sometimes I can wear a 7.5 in other brands so don't go down a size.

Platform heel: Constructed of wooden material measuring at 5 inches in height with a 2.5 platform.
They have crisscross straps which are a little annoying but hopefully my feet will adapt after breaking them in. They are actually comfortable to wear and your feet stay balanced.

The color: These thick plastic type holographic rainbow gold. The varying faceted shades when the light hit the shoes are gold with blue, green, violet shifts. In low light the rainbow colors are not as visible but are more apparent in the brightest lighting.

They also come with two separate dust bags for each individual shoes.

In other news:

I wanted to make a quick mention I will be away for a birthday celebration starting this weekend and will be returning around the end of next week so stay tuned for all the review on products I didn't get around to testing yet such as that Luster White system recently sent to me that I tweeted about. There are also more guest posts coming up and I started a little undercover fashion detective mission to bring you guys the low down on a current shopping craze that's changing the face of how we purchase products. I'm looking forward to doing that write up for you guys. I'm also looking into doing a special health feature on something that is close to my heart in memory of someone and will ask for blogger help in this matter as I think most women think of doing things like this but don't have all the behind the scenes facts or might be scared to try as I have been. I'm also going to try to update my abandoned foodie blog later tonight with my Arancini (rice balls) recipe. I think I need 8 arms to do all the things needed to be done in a day! But I haven't forgot about it so please be patient and thanks to those of you who subscribe to Project Lucania as it means a lot to me. I wish everyone a safe happy weekend. Stay beautiful! XOXO

I'm now on Facebook and if you can drop on by and "like" the page it would be appreciated as I'm trying to get it out there. If you have a Facebook page you would like me to connect with drop me a comment. Thanks!

BAD ROMANCE OR BAD SHOES...?

Okay, so I'm probably going to get grief for saying these shoes look adorable in a funky/mod stylish way but I don't care they are unusually cute. Jeffrey Campbell has done it again. He has created a shoe that will be talked about for years to come and this time the Bad Romance style is a wink and a nod to Lady Gaga. Hey if he's going to name a shoe in honor of her it's fitting the styling is a little weird as the lady herself, right?

ROMA ROMA MA MA Bad Romance just released which is part of the Fall 2011 collection is set on a dangerously high five inch wooden heel with a two inch wooden platform with scrunchy bunched up ruffle fabric in a delicious purple shade. No doubt about it, it's a shoe with a whole lot of drama. And it has to take a rather confident dramatic girly to pound the pavement in these babies. Do you dare to wear? You likey? Or is this one to skip? Stay beautiful! XOXO
Availability: Jeffrey Campbell $189.99

my press test  product arrived
very basic very chic
fun black patent bows
comfy cushion padding for the balls of your feet
plus snuggled in a pretty organza storage and travel bag
well constructed, lovely printed details on back

 comfy raised heel for support
massaging cushion bead bed

***Test pair I received was a Medium which fit me (size 8) perfectly. I usually like a snugger fit and just to let you know these wear relaxed and had wiggle room for me.***

Do you recall my recent write up about the OKA b. shoe brand plus a promotional coupon added which was sent to me from the company that can be read here, well the publicity team provided me a pair of shoes to test and review in the size of my choice. I was so excited when they arrived because people have been raving about these everywhere so I'm glad I have the opportunity to try them out. I was sent a basic black pair with lovely shiny bows-product style "Anita" for those of you interested and having worn these a little under two weeks now my review is ready. And guess what, these shoes are all under $40! I've purchased brand flip flops that break easily for the same price. Below I will post some product info and re-post some information about the company before adding my results.

                                                                                          Anita:
A soft plastic bow sits sweetly on our thong and is offered in a wide range of colors and stripes. Classic, preppy, sweet or edgy, every woman will find the perfect pair to spring for! Available in 8 gorgeous colors with stripe, solid or tortoise shell bow accents. $25

ABOUT OKA b.

The Original Shoes that Love YouTM
Where The Spa Meets the Street...
OKA b. is founded on the principle that fashion and comfort should never be mutually exclusive. Imagine a shoe that not only looks great with every outfit but feels great with every step. A sandal given the thumbs up by your doctor and your best friend. A slide that matches your wedding gown and massages your feet as you dance down the aisle. A flip-flop so stylish it's featured in fashion magazines. A shoe that's 100% recyclable, waterproof, made in the USA and priced under $40.
That's not only a shoe you'll love. That's a shoe that loves you.
Our Humble Beginnings...
OKA b. began with two basic styles - a slide and a thong, designed to feel like a spa shoe by integrating the principles of reflexology and ergonomics. Today the line has expanded to include dozens of styles and colors adorned with natural seashell, gemstones and ribbon, without compromising on comfort. Massage beads pamper the foot and promote good posture. OKA b.s are also crafted using a single piece of proprietary Microplast® material and are antimicrobial, waterproof and washable. Each season OKA b. designers adapt runway trends to introduce new designs to the collection. From summer brights to subdued fall tones, bridal collections to the casual weekend flop, there's an OKA b. sandal for every look and for every occasion. These features make them a hit in upscale resorts, spas, hotels and fine gift shops around the world.

Pro: well constructed lightweight micro-plast technology material, comfortable, cushions feet, feet stay relaxed all day, massaging bead cushion, padding in instep, thong doesn't irritate toes, variety of colors, can be worn with various outfits, anti-microbial and odor resistant, doctor approved, slip resistant, comes with storage bag, affordable price point, has a little raised heel so they not totally flat, machine washable, made in the USA, environmentally conscious

Con: wouldn't mind a thicker platform but this is just a personal preference

My results: I have to be honest, at first glance the shoe seemed just like a regular jelly flip flop and was wondering if it was worth the price because jelly's or any type of flip flops can be purchased at a lower cost. But after wearing these for about a couple of weeks they are definitely not like your average flimsy jelly's or flip flops for all the reasons mentioned above on my Pro list but mostly for the way my feet felt while wearing these all day. They are super comfortable with a lightweight feel to them even though they are a well constructed thick plastic. My feet felt cushioned, pampered and the thong strap in the middle didn't irritate me at all! Most flip flop thong straps always irritate the middle of my toes but these did not. Now as for the price you might think it's costly when you can go out and buy $10 flip flops ( if you can still find them at that price) and actually if you shop at bargain places like Target's or Walgreens you can easily spend $20 for a pair. If you keep in mind that most often we go through so many pairs of flip flops that break easily, the thong strap pulls out making them useless and after wearing them the plastic material compacts and flattens from the pressure of your feet that we spend more money buying cheap pairs in the long run. Several $10 over a few pairs adds up so why not just buy one good pair. The selling point for me on these shoes are the comfort level! They are fabulously comfy and keep your feet feeling relaxed! Not to mention they are anti-microbial and machine washable-uh smelly old flips flops are a thing of the past!

The materials: These shoes are made in the U.S.A. with Proprietary Microplast® technology provides a lightweight, flexible shoe that remains comfortable and durable. Microplast's chemical make up is Poly Vinyl Chloride which is actually made from salt and fossil fuel.

Foot Therapy And Shoe Wear:
Reflexology-Inspired Design
The therapeutic principles of reflexology guide the design of OKA b. products. All of our shoes feature an ergonomic footbed enhanced with massage beads to pamper feet with every step.
Antimicrobial & Odor Resistant
OKA b.'s non–absorbent material resists the growth of mildew, fungus and bacteria. A great feature for spas and resorts!
Non-Slip & Non-Marking
OKA b. shoes are slip-resistant, providing stability on wet or dry terrain. Our colorful shoes won't leave marks on the floor
Machine Washable & Colorfast
OKA b.'s non-absorbent material makes our shoes machine washable and easy to sanitize. Keep your feet clean and healthy - your OKA b.s will resist fading even through repeated washings.
One-Piece Construction
All OKA b. shoes, including thongs, feature one–piece construction for superior durability and comfort.

Packaged: Comes with it's own organza shoe storage and travel bag which is a nice added touch.

Im all honesty I have to say I'm completely sold on these shoes and once again more than anything for the comfort level it provides to my feet because I'm on my feet all day long whether I'm out or at home my feet never rest and too often I sacrifice the well being of my feet to wear "fashionable" shoes that torture me. With these I get comfort and some style so it's a perfect combination. I also love all the other features that these shoes have like the anti fungus protection, the fact they can be machine washed as well and for the great recycling program the company offers. Any time a company does something that is conscientiously, for me it's always a plus. I definitely recommend you try a pair because all the shoes are under $40 dollars and the Anita pair I received is only $25 which is worth making your feet happy. They also have stylish bride styles which would make a great gift for bridesmaid party or a bride on her wedding day so she can stay on her feet all through the night looking fashionable and feeling comfortable. When deciding on the rating for these shoes I thought the price was going to make me rate these lower but when I kept in mind how many times I buy cheap flip flops that torture my feet it adds up to more than the price of one pair of OKA b. shoes so it's a great investment to splurge on one decent pair. Trust me, you will get hooked on these shoes and you have so many color, style options to choose from! Every women whatever her age or taste can find several pairs to make her happy. I'm going to go ahead and give these shoes a full five starfish rating for comfort, design, value, antibacterial properties and for what the brand stands for. Plus they are American made baby! I truly hope you guys give OKA b. a chance to prove to you how amazing they and I'm going to grab some in the future as well as get a pair for my mom and elderly aunt who always complains about every pair of shoes she wears. Anyone tried these? Stay beautiful! XOXO

Steve Madden Gurllee Arrived Plus 30% Off Code

The purple craze continues... My Steve Madden Gurllee Platforms arrived! SM sent me a 30% Off code plus free shipping so if you guys are interested use code SUNNY30 at checkout and today is the last day. You can use it with other styles or purchase this Gurllee in other colors and prints. I love these shoes! They are so comfortable to walk in and I know they will be getting a lot of use out of me especially this season with all the seventies vintage dressing making them versatile enough to wear with jeans or a sundress. How many purple things can be added to my wardrobe before the color sickens me? Ummm...not enough! I love purple but I'm sure I also love these because they remind me of the platforms my mother had in her closet in the seventies. I'm sure you guys know how the seventies is one of my favorite decade ever as a matter of fact (and going off topic) some of my favorite decades in American history are the 1920's (long live the gangsta bootlegging grandma's!) Oh to have lived in the era of prohibition, bootlegging and speakeasies! And the 1940's, 1950's ( mostly due in part for the comical way society masked psychologically disturbing behavior under a veneer of social etiquette much like the Victorian Era another favorite decade for me.) That and for cocktail time martini! Finally the 1970's and the 1980's. Being a student of historical and fashion costume, I'll do some related posts in the future. In the meantime use up the code before it expires tonight. Stay beautiful! XOXO

Dany Plum Velvet Platforms By Jessica Simpson

For today's post I thought it would be fun to do an occasional "what I'm wearing now" items as well as show of my shoe lust!  After buying a pair of Jessica Simpson shoes several years ago when she had just launched her new line I swore I would never buy another pair from JS again because it irks me that this girl with one of the most beautiful voices has done nothing but focus on selling her name for shoes, hair extensions and other assorted doodles, not to mention a string of dumb a$$ men she has been dating when what she needs to do is make albums. Girrrl, if your reading this "Get Yo butt back in a recording studio!" Love ya XOXO. As a matter of fact I think those other JS shoes are still in a box new and unused in my closet. Well after seeing these Dany Plum Velvet Platform Shoes out from her new collection I had to have them! Lust at first sight! One, they are purple and I'm a purple people eater. Secondly, they'll get a lot of use from me because of all those seventies fashions these can be paired with this spring and lastly there more affordable than the runway shoes that Jessica does such a nice job of knocking off . I did manage to snag a couple of Jeffrey Campbell's (JS copied those with this style too) which are still on back order so I saved some cash on this pair. Macy's may still have a couple left so run don't walk to grab one for yourself. And if your wondering they are 5 delicious inches of  pure comfort heels!  Stay beautiful!  XOXO

$50 Sold Out at JS Online Shoe Sites Such as Zappos lists these for $98
Sizing::Runs slightly big (I  wear 8 and these are comfy but loose, I like a snug fit)

Trend Alert :Flatform For Spring 2011

What’s a flatform you ask? Quite simply ballet flats mashed up with a platform hence flatform. Although this style has to be absolutely brilliant in terms of ease, comfort and look it’s surely nothing new in design-think a more stylish Jesus sandal. No seriously...if fashion sense were high on the biblical elite radar then these would be all the rage. In probability ancient Greeks, Romans, Egyptians along with other ancient cultures had similar staples in their wardrobe. It’s all a question of returning back to basics and I for one am glad because this shoe style has always been one of my faves. Flatforms also have a reminiscent hint of the wooden “geta” shoes worn by Geisha’s and similar in type to the raised flats worn by Arabian harem girls. So forget all the dainty feminine frilly shoes for this spring because models have been stomping &  clogging down the runways sporting these ultra fun flat platforms. As a matter of fact the hottest spring/summer shoe trends are wooden heels with lots of chunk and height thanks to that seventies revival look to match. A great trend-don’t you think? This look is not only comfortable or a welcomed break from otherwise sky high stiletto heels of late but also a shoe anyone can pull off with simplicity as well as being  easily paired with skirts, jeans, trousers, shorts or just about anything else. Grab yourself a pair and walk in fashionable ease this spring.  Any opinions?  Stay beautiful! XOXO

Skechers Tone Ups Chalet Carve Sweater Boot

In keeping with the theme of fitness from my previous post I'll be reviewing these Skechers Tone Ups 'Chalet Carve' Sweater Boots which I received as a gift over the holidays. Between this gift and my Wii Fitness (which I'll be reviewing soon) I should expect to have rock hard gluts this summer!  FYI-Chalet Carve is the style name for this particular pair. When I first unwrapped the package and saw it was a fitness product my first thought was Oh great such fun sarcastically speaking of course but when I saw the booties I thought Okay I could be really styling in these! hey if they actually help you tone up and make you look good in the process all the better. Having worn these a few times, even in the house because they keep your feet snugly warm, I have to say I'm impressed. They are so comfortable making you feel like your  feet are walking on nice fluff clouds. Despite the bulky appearance they are featherweight and make no clogging sounds when walking, it literally feels like your walking on air. They give you a nice platform lift with a two inch heel, durably constructed and easy to get into with a very wide side opening. You even get a cute little Skecher logo key chain attached. Now for the most important part-What are these supposed to do for you?  Product info as listed from manufacturer is as follows,Smart fitness toning boot keeps you cozy and cool while helping strengthen muscles, promoting weight loss and reducing cellulite. Other features are:soft fabric upper, helps firm calves and glutes, 2" heel, cushioned insole and heel pad, elastic gore, multi-density EVA footbed for superior toning, synthetic lining and sole. It's too early for me to tell if they are really working but in any case there very comfortable & stylish. Let's hope they work. Anyone own a pair? I went online to search availability for you in this particular style plus the site I found is offering them at a wonderful discount. Feel free to shop around at other places where Skecher is sold.  Have a great weekend.Stay beautiful! XOXO
