Eagles Make Vick $100 Million Dollar Man

Vick becomes the first NFL star to sign two $100 million dollar deals. The first of course was with Atlanta and didn't have a happy ending.

Favre knows Eagles head coach Andy Reid and offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg from his days in Green Bay, and you've got a good scheme fit for Favre's talents. And when the Eagles trade Kevin Kolb(notes) (as they undeniably will), that will put Michael Vick(notes) out there as the absolute starter. Factor in Vick's breakneck style, the injuries it led to in 2010, and the four games he missed, and it's clear the Eagles need a veteran backup familiar with a West Coast Offense that has aerial passing components. Buehrle reported to spring training Thursday and stood by his remark.

Vick gets the Keys to the City: Not everyone Happy

Last Saturday afternoon (the same day he received the AP Comeback Player of the Year award), Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick(notes) was given the key to the city of Dallas by Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway, an action that caused an uproar among local animal-rights groups ... and the actual mayor of the city, Tom Leppert.

"The action taken was not sanctioned by my office and was not an official ceremonial honor on behalf of the City of Dallas," Leppert said in a statement. "Official Keys to the City are presented by the Mayor, or an elected official designated by the Mayor, and reserved, on a limited basis, for an elected official of international status. Clearly, this was not the case in this situation and done without my knowledge or approval."

Vick gets first paid endorsement deal since arrest

Vick has signed his first paid endorsement contract since his release from prison. The Philadelphia Eagles’ Pro Bowl quarterback inked a two-year contract with Unequal Technologies, a provider of the football pads Vick wore most of last season.

The deal will be announced on Thursday.

No Dogs Allowed

PHILADELPHIA (AP)—Michael Vick’s(notes) odyssey has taken him from Pro Bowl star to prison and back again.

Transforming from dogfighting ringleader to leader of the Philadelphia Eagles made a big impression with players and fans of the NFL—and not just in the city that chants “MVP!” at the sight of Vick’s No. 7.

The Eagles quarterback, who sat out two seasons while serving a federal sentence for dogfighting, was voted to start for the NFC in the Jan. 30 Pro Bowl in Honolulu.

Vick was selected Tuesday in a leaguewide vote by NFL players, coaches and fans.

Michael Vick wants a Dog.

"I would love to get another dog in the future. I think it would be a big step for me in the rehabilitation process.

"I think just to have a pet in my household and to show people that I genuinely care, and my love and my passion for animals; I think it would be outstanding. If I ever have the opportunity again I will never take it for granted. I miss having a dog right now. I wish I could. My daughters miss having one, and that's the hardest thing: telling them that we can't have one because of my actions."
