Hard Candy's Fall Collection 2011 includes new and delicious colors just in time for autumn with Stay in Line Precise Mechanical Eyeliner Infused With Growth Serum Shade-Baby Brown Sparkle and Eye Def Molten Metallic Cream Shadow Shade #430 Knockout which were sent to me for consideration. As you recall I reviewed Eye Def previously and now Hard Candy revamped the line to carry hot new metallic shades. I'm absolutely in love with both colors and like how they interplay off of each other. These will certainly be beauty staples to match my fall wardrobe. And isn't it great that plum is stilling going strong after a couple of seasons. And who doesn't love must have rich chocolatey brown's that are one hundred percent essentials when the weather starts to cool down. Some product info below before posting my results:

Pro: well pigmented, rich color palette, long wear, affordable price, smudge proof shadow, precise liner, cruelty free, growth serum infused liner, self sharpening pencil, fabulous high shine shadow, glitter was minimal, can be used by all age groups, non flaking shadow formula

Con: liner is creamy and wastes down rather quickly

My results: I'm always nicely surprised with Hard Candy's Cosmetics because you would think for such low affordable prices the quality might be lacking, not so. The liner was easy to work with and had just the right amount of shine compared to some past glittery products that had too much glitter making them versatile enough for young girls and more mature women to utilize. The colors are absolutely tempting and they updated the palette just in time to wear with your fall fashions. The shadow stays put!  I find this formula much better than the previous Eye Def I reviewed which I will get into. And let's not forget the cute packaging!

Packaging: The metallic cream shadow is still housed in a lab-like tube container and the angled brush makes it easy to apply/work with the product. The eyeliner has a self sharpening precise point to it and the smudger brush on the opposite tip is well constructed and great to blend with.

Formula: For the cream shadow: this is a big improvement from the last Eye Def collection as the shadow stays super put but is not as dry and does not crack or flake. I mean it stays put even without primer. The angled applicator tip allows you to go thin or go big and bold. I'm in love with this metallic plum shade I was sent, it's high shine and gorgeous! You must try this out!

For the Eyeliner: it has a very precise tip allowing you to also create thin or fatter looks and the formula is very creamy blending well. I love the added factor of the growth serum but I haven't seen any results yet since I have only used it a couple of times. It's great that it sharpens itself and has a well constructed durable smudger on the other tip. This won't peel away and fall off as the material seems to be thick. It has just  a little glitter in the formula so you can wear it during the day and any age group can enjoy this. The liner stays put only coming off a little when my allergies started acting up but that's my weepy eye syndrome. Otherwise it's has a decent staying power.

So far I'm seeing that Hard Candy's Fall 2011 has gotten off to a great start with these two products and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone. You can't go wrong with these prices so grab a few in different shades. The added bonus of being cruelty free and having super adorable packaging along with the quality and price garnishes these two products with an overall five starfish rating. First let me start by wishing everyone here on the East Coast who experienced that 5.8 scale Earthquake has now calmed down and relaxing from all the anxiety and that of course your all safe! I'm still a little shaky as I literally almost had the seat I was sitting on pulled right from underneath me not to mention huge chandeliers over my head almost drop. *For photo taking purposes: the highlighters were not blended into the skin to allow the product shade to show through. Once you blend it into your skin it disappears leaving a lovely shimmery glow in pearlescent doll face and more of a glimmering golden tint in glamazon.*

Here is my review for two new Hard Candy Glow All The Way Face & Body Luminizer-Shade Doll Face & Glamazon infused with 24 K gold sent to me from publicity. You guys all know by now that I have major highlighter obsession and when these arrived at my door it was exciting. Unwrapping the package to find these glamorous disco glam tubes inside put my glee over the top! This is something you really want to use for the summer when your skin is out & bare for that boost of gorgeous glow. Some product information below before my own finding are posted.

Hard Candy Glow All The Way Face & Body Luminizer

Glow All the Way! This pearly, luminizing highlighter illuminates all skin tones. Apply to face and body for a luminous, sun-kissed bronze or a pearlescent glow. Infused with 24 karat gold for a million dollar look!

Pro: lightweight feel-subtle glimmer-suitable for all ages and skin tones-versatile face & body cream-buildable if you want more coverage & sheer if it's well blended into skin-affordable price point-non irritating- non greasy- absorbs nicely-a little product goes a long way on your face-masks really dry skin-travel friendly-cruelty free.

Con:product tube could be somewhat larger allowing for more application on body (arms,legs,etc) if you use it on your face only it should last you quite some time as only a little drop is needed for blending in.

Venus Tips:

Add a couple of drops ( doll face works best on your face for a "spotlight effect" ) to your foundation for coverage and a fantastic glow! 

Want to stretch out the product if your using it on your body? Just mix a little of the product into body moisturizer or dry skin oil of your choice. With dry skin oil your legs will get an added boost of moisture and shine which helps mask really dry blotchy skin.

Don't be shy-apply some (preferably glamazon for it's sun kissed bronze tint) on your decollete' or if your feeling brazen on your derriere when your in your bikini. No area is off limits!

Applying on the back of your hands makes them look younger.

Extend you tan life with Glamazon applied all over your body

My results: I'm very much in love and satisfied with these luminizers and I feel they work really great on face and body. It's versatile enough to use everywhere even mixed in with foundation and body lotions. Before I get into the formula some information on the packaging. They are packaged in glamorous shiny plastic tubes and have a small opening in the tube to allow you complete control of product while stopping too much lotion oozing out accidentally.

Two color options are available-Doll Face and Glamazon. Doll Face is a lovely icy pink pearlescent shade that works as a beautiful face highlighter due to the "spotlight effect" it creates. You can use this on your body as well and if your skin is fair you might like this the best. Since it does blend into the skin leaving a glow and subtle glimmer behind there's no reason why all skin tones shouldn't be able to use this but Glamazon might highlight darker skin more properly. Glamazon has a lovely sun kissed bronzed tint and for me it seems as if it's more tinted than doll face which adds more glow rather than actual color. With Glamazon fair skin will instantly looked subtlety sun kissed but not stained which I love! If your skin is on the medium to darker side this shade will look spectacular by giving you a nice warm glow! I love them both but find I'll probably be using Doll Face for my face and Glamazon for my body because of my fair skin tone. However when my body gets a nice tan I'll probably use Glamazon to extend and highlight my tan more. The tube is 76.5 grams which is equal to 2.7 ounces product weight.

Product formula is very lightweight and non greasy in a sheer creamy lotion formula. It goes on smooth absorbing nicely into your skin without the feeling of a heavy reside left behind. I experienced no skin irritations using this on my face or body which is a plus for my sensitive skin. Doll face is the sheerest of the shades and Glamazon is more tinted in color. Glamazon doesn't stain your skin at all, it blends in and both shade options provide a gorgeous shimmery effect without any chunks of glitter-another plus. I found that it doesn't settle into fine lines and feel if applied correctly with minimal product there is no reason why women of all age wouldn't be able to use this in some way. Younger girls usually like to rub more in for a fun shimmery highlighting effect.

Bottom line for me-it's fabulous and affordable! The only fault I could find is the product tube size because even though you need just a tiny bit on your face if your going to use this on your body often it would make sense to have the tube available in a larger size. Maybe Hard Candy will come out with more size options in the future. I'm really loving how versatile of a product it is and added a few tips above on ways for you to use the luminizers. Have any more ideas? Get creative! I would recommend this heartily and feel it's one of those items everyone can use in the summer time when we all show our skin even if it's only on your legs when wearing a nice flowy skirt.My findings are my honest opinions and no compensation was made for my review. I think you all know by now if I don't like something I just come right out and say it. This get's a fabulous 4.5 starfish rating from me for it's versatility, affordability, lovely formula and for being cruelty free. A larger tube would have given it a higher rating. Since it's a body product it should have been slightly larger in size but still for the price it's offered you can stock up and save! I'm slowly realizing how great of a deal Hard Candy Cosmetics are with these amazing prices and savings. You really don't have to shop in department stores for pretty and useful beauty products. Hard Candy Button Your Lips

Today's review is for another great affordable product sent to me from Hard Candy publicity, it's a fun brush on button lip gloss pen. Hard Candy Button Your Lips Gloss Pen With Bonus Lip Liner Shade 221 Innocence. The lip gloss applicator is much like a pen and you press the button on the tip to get the desired amount of gloss. Initially you have to click several times until the product flows out but then you have to be careful because just a couple of clicks is all you need. Plus you get a free lip liner included in the box! A few product specs from the manufacture listed below before I post my own results:

Button Your Lip - Liquid Lipstick

Impossibly shiny glosses that glide on for the most glamorous "A-list" lips in town! Formulated to give 'em something to gossip about! The rich and luxurious formula is loaded with ingredients that make your lips feel soft and pampered. The head-turning shades feature a high fashion shine and will last late into the night. Pro: glossy-non sticky-candy taste-easy applicator-cruelty free-decent staying power-affordable-bonus lip liner-available in eight shiny colors

Con: while color pigment stains last long the gloss could use more stay power

My results: This fabulous fun to use pen applicator is a great product! It works by clicking the button tip several times to release the gloss. Initially you need to really click for the flow to start but afterward just a couple clicks will do. The formula is very rich and creamy, it's not that liquid-y which is nice because it actually stays on your lips for quite some time. The gloss doesn't endure as much but still the color pigments remain on your lips. I drank coffee a few minutes after application and the the color was still there just less shiny. It's been on my lips for about three hours now so it's not the kind of gloss that wipes off after several minutes. It also has this sweet yummy candy flavor to it which is also nice and you get a free lip liner! The lip liner is a twist pen and the formula is very creamy and blends easily. It's a shade darker from the gloss and with the shade sent to me in a nice fleshy tone pinkish taupe it allows to to create the perfect nude lip. If I want it darker I could just apply more lip liner to add more drama at night. In my swatch the lip liner application was subtle because I wanted you to see how naturally lovely looking the shade Innocence is. It doesn't have glitter in the formula but it does have high sheen which is nice because it's not a childish lip gloss so any age group can wear it. I definitely will buy this product again because it's a great and want to try all the other shades. It's so affordable, cruelty free and you get a free lip liner! It gets my recommendation and a 4.5 starfish rating! The only minor issue was that maybe the high gloss lasts a little longer but most gloss will have this issue. Hard Candy Eye Def Glittering Cream

Up for review is Hard Candy Eye Def Glittering Eye Cream Shade Lagoon #326 which was sent over to me from publicity. Below I'm adding a few product specs from the manufacturer before posting my own results:

Eye Def -High Def Glittering Cream Eye Shadow

Eye Def is a unique formulation that coats the lid with fine glitter and a base shadow color. Coverage and sparkle in one application that lasts all day! Ultra pigmented shades infused with flecks and an over sized, angled, doe foot applicator.

Pro:rich pigment-smudge proof-long lasting-cruelty free-no glitter fallout-affordable-great wand!

Con: dry time instant-must work rather quickly to get look-once set on skin it can't be blended

My results: First let me apologize for the bad photo-I almost blinded my eyeball trying to get a shot! I'm not good at these types of swatches but hopefully I'll improve on them. How do you girls get eye look photos without getting blind, camera or web cam? Other than that the color is pretty much accurate in the swatch-a very vibrant rich lagoon blue. This fun eye cream comes packed in an adorable tube with a great applicator wand as it's very big, flexible and great for precision angled looks. The consistency of the formula is a rich creamy shadow infused with flecks of fine glitter, not chunks so it's not tacky at all. Since this formula drys up instantly it stays put! Seriously, you need to work fast and know what look you want to achieve so you can create, set it and your done! It won't budge at all. I'm not a makeup artist so I had no idea what look I was going for (just did a quick shadow application on lower eye) so it was irritating to have to use eye makeup remover to fix it around. The good thing is that it comes off quickly with the remover. So you might need to experiment a few times to know what you want to create before actually setting the look but once you know what you want you go in there and viola! you get a nice shiny eye shadow. The formula glides easily and with the fabulous wand you can use it to line the eye area with precision as well as using it as a shadow base. There is no glitter fallout and it has this wonderful cooling sensation on your skin. I would use this for going out or adding drama rather than a daytime look, it's something I would purchase again especially in this shade but would have to learn how to work with it. If your not going for any particular eye look it works great as a quick shadow base or liner so I would recommend this and give it a 3.5 starfish rating because it's pretty decent just irritating the way it dried up rather quickly not giving me a chance to wipe away my errors and start quickly again. You real talented gals out there who are more professional would have better luck than me in this respect so try it and have fun. Stay beautiful! XOXO

Hard Candy Lash Tinsel Glitter Mascara

Tinsel just for your tree? I think not...with Hard Candy Lash Tinsel Glitter Mascara your lashes get to celebrate all year round. This fun mascara was sent to me from publicity over at Hard Candy Cosmetics in a gorgeous teal/green shade called UFO 352. Don't you just love cosmetics with adorable names especially far out spacey alien ones. A little product information listed below before I get to my review:

Con: color is subtle unless your apply several coats

My results: This mascara was really fun to use and found the best quality was the fact that it lasted all day without any glitter fallout. As most of you guys know when working with a glitter based product it can get quite messy and irritating having to rub excess glitter from off of your face so no glitter flakes was a plus! The applicator wand is also really nice lengthening & separating the lashes without clumping. The formula was irritant free as I have sensitive eyes another plus for me. Surprisingly enough the formula was durable staying in place until you wash it off usually glitter cosmetics don't stay put. What it could improve on was more color transfer on the lashes because it took many swipes to get the color to pop but it's buildable without clumping so that's good. I added a few tips on how to get the shade to show up more on your lashes in the tip box above. Most color mascara has the same issue but at least this is cruelty free and affordable. When you do apply it right the glitter catches the light nicely but noticeable mostly when people are really close to you. I couldn't get my camera to grab a better shot than the swatch I added but you can see the sparkles a bit. I would definitely would purchase and recommend this product giving it a 4.5 starfish rating more color impact would have a 5 rating but still a really fun mascara! Stay beautiful! XOXO

Up for review today is Hard Candy Plumping Serum Volumizing Lip Gloss Shade 335 Life Preserver. This was one of the products sent over to me from publicity at Hard Candy Cosmetics which is the the most prettiest natural shade ever. Some product info from the manufacture below:

Pro: super shine-sweet candy taste-gives your lips some pout-nice cooling sensation on contact-not sticky-cruelty free-12 beautiful shades-no stinging-fat size tube-fantabulous price point! 

Con: staying power is good but could be improved

My results: Firstly, my own lips are very girly small so anything that can make them appear more luscious is a plus for me. I was really excited to try this when it came in the package-which by the way the actual lip gloss tube is so cute!-and the first thing I noticed when applying the gloss was this sweet vanilla like taste along with a nice tingling sensation. There is no harsh sting or irritations as with some other lip plumpers on the market so that was nice. This gloss is not sticky at all and it has decent staying power as I drank coffee and nibbled on some snacks afterward noticing the gloss was still on but it does fade throughout the day so you may need to reapply it but most gloss is like this plus your lips remain nice and soft even when the gloss dissipates. The shine is super incredible and with this particular shade that I tested it has the most beautiful natural looking color. This formula also has some sparkle to it but it's so subtle you catch it only in the light-it's not tacky glitter but rather very fine sparkle with a pink-purplish shift to it. As you can see in the photo (Yes finally-I added my first lippy photo! yes my baby lips got some pout....) I got a nice natural looking lip with some pout to it not much but decently plump. This is not going to add super plump to your lips so don't expect to look like Angelina Jolie but it does fill out the lines nicely. I haven't tried on another product yet but I imagine it would be more dramatic applied over lipstick. It get's a 4.5 starfish rating along with my recommendation for a great fun product that's cruelty free and super affordable! My only gripe would be for it to have more staying power.
